I've been using my loophole for a while now and have noticed that when I record a loop and then hit the play button, I get a loud pop. It's never bothered me too much until I started using other effects after it, notably delay and another looper pedal. Has anybody else encountered this and are there any suggestions to fix it? Thanks!

taper shouldn't affect sound in any way I don't think? Just the ease of dialing in a setting. The resistances between each lug and the wiper will be identical for both linear and log pots, just at different degrees of rotation on the dial. Assuming both pots are the same value.

The lilac sparkly thing in the top right is a kingslayer. The purple 1590a is a fatpants. I love these two together! Almost never turn them off unless I'm using other drive pedals.

The white one is technically a madbean since there is a cave dweller pcb in it. This was a crazy idea of mine to build a deep blue delay and cave dweller in one box, with a switch to choose between the two, using dual gang pots where necessary. To top it off I added a taptation circuit in there with modulation. Turned out better than I could have imagined!

The pinkish one with the blue knobs is a loophole (I'm really into looping what with the boomerang as well). I added the vibrato to it and it works great (thanks Jakefuzz!)

Other DIY stuff on there: Blue one is a lunar module rehoused to add the two other controls. Green one is a meathead and a random number generator with a switch to choose the circuit, takes care of my crazy fuzz needs. Unfinished one on the left board is a BYOC reverb.

Wow! That's impressive. Interestingly enough I recently finished something similar, a pork barrel and current lover in one box both at 15V. I had the same noise issues with the current lover, and narrowed it down to heterodyning issues due to the road rage's charge pump. I built a little 15V regulator board and used the 24V power supply from my deluxe memory man and it solved the issue.

I've done this a few times with dual gang pots to save on enclosures, it works great if you don't mind messing around with the settings each time you change from one to the other. Also keep in mind that if they both use the typical master volume at the end of the circuit, you don't need a dual gang there because you can put it after the selector switch.

Looking through project docs and deciding I need to build something because I know that I have ONE of the cap values it requires on hand. Justifying the purchase of 79 components to use up one leftover.

I'm very guilty of this, especially with unusual IC's. Except whenever I order them, I always order at least one extra. It's a vicious cycle.

I keep a folder on my computer with subfolders for documents about projects I have planned (and another folder for completed projects). Currently the "planned" folder is 24 MB!  The "completed" folder is only 20 MB. 

I am constantly plucking component ends out of my feet.

I build projects just because I like one of the colors on pedal parts plus that I haven't used yet.

I complete a build, spend 10 minutes with the guitar testing it out to make sure it works properly, and then put it in a drawer and start working on another build. Even the ones that sound really good! Eventually I'll slow down and spend more time playing I hope....or at least lend them to friends who actually play guitar.

And so on....

Thanks, I'm a bit of a newbie and I'm trying to see on the schematic where a good place for the switch would be. I don't have a lot of knowledge about IC's and I'm trying to understand what the LPF and OP inputs and outputs are and what they are being used for.

Looks great! I'm building the same project, though I'm not quite as skilled in graphics. Right now I've got the looper working and I need to order some parts to add in the vibrato. What value pots did you use for the vibrato controls?

I've built numerous transistor pedals and I'm just venturing into the world of IC chip pedals, and I have a question about IC chip names. I will be building a current lover, and possibly some others.

The project calls for a CD4013BCN, can this be replaced by the CD4013 that small bear sells? Others I'm confused about are TL072 vs. TL072CP vs. TL072ACP, and LM386 vs. LM386N-3.
