Actually, the saturation is at pin 7 of the NE570  :-\

Hi have a little time to come back on this project.

There is the signal until between R10/R11, between R11/R12 there is no signal, At R12/R13 the signal comes only when i play strongly but it's saturate.

Have you an idea ?

I have to remove C8 and link with a wire both points of R12 to bring the signal to V3205.

I follow the signal untill the input 14 and 15 of NE570 IC, but there's nothing at pin 10 and 11.

So, i suspect the NE570, it's a NE570N version. Is it ok with it ?

How can i check if this IC is ok? i don't have any spare.

Thank you

Marc

Actually,

when i probe at IC2 (NE570) pin 5 and 6 signal is ok, but there is no signal at the output pin 7 .
i mesure 8 volts at pin 13.

So there's no more signal after IC2.

Have you an idea?

Thank you.

Thank you, It will help to get the best sound when my Dirtbag will be working.

But i have read the entire post and did'nt see anything about D2 and C17.

So, we keep D2 and C17 or not with VS3205 ?

Thanks

Hi Guys,

I just build a Dirtbag Deluxe with VS3205.

There's Dry signal at the output, but there's no wet signal.

I puted 47K resistors for R11 and R12.

For R21 and C14 i replace both for 100K resistors.

Do i have to ommit D2 and C17 ?

Thanks

I recently re- build two wah one with carbon comp and another with metal film, the one with carbon have a little more hiss, but i found the sound of the one with metal film less interesting.

Just one resistor is metal film, and will be changed.

It could be interesting to know wich resistors was, carbon film, metal film and above all carbon comp in DMM.
I try to find some more infos about that but with no succes.
I' really think to put a poor specs componants at the good places participate to the vintage sound.

Same for rhe caps, Mylar, PIO, etc...

If someone know sometghing about it... :)

For exemple i built a 5E3 amp with Russian PIOs coupling caps, i already tried Mallory 150 series in this amp. But with PIOs it sound more open and have more clarity, the difference is convincing.

Yes i suppose the metal film will lower the noise, but i thinked maybe the carbon film provide something good and more authentic in the sound.

I used to build many vintage clone FX, Fuzz face, Treble boost, wah, with carbon comp resistors.
But if i understand well it seem's to be too noisy for DMM.

Thank you  ;)

Ok,
What kind of resistors was used in "old" DMM, Carbon film or metal film ?

Is it a good way to build a Dirtbag deluxe with carbon resistors?

Ok, i get it, thank you ;)

And what about the MN3005 ? i really want to mount the Dirtbag with it.
I've read on Ebay there's a big chance to buy a fake, some people had the same problem with UT source.

Does anyone can tell me where to find a genuine MN3005 IC ?

Thanks

Hi guys, very nice building. :)

I just order my Dirtbag PCB, i'm looking for MN3005 ICs, but i know there's a lot of fake. So, have you a secure source to buy it ?

Another question, i don't see where to connect the CH/VB SPDT switch on the board, if someone can tell me...

Thank you
