Open Discussion / Fuzz pedal raffle for typhoon relief
January 05, 2014, 05:49:30 PM
I hope you won't think me a spammer.  I'm raffling off a custom Ape Blaster Fuzz and all proceeds will go to Philippine Red Cross for Typhoon Haiyan relief.  The raffle ends tonight whenever I get home from the sweet sweet rock n roll show I plan to attend.  Entries are ten bucks a ticket and one person can enter up to five times.  Thanks for your consideration guys!

By the time I put something like that or a 1590A far enough apart so that my giant boots can work only one pedal at a time I might as well just have everything in a 1590BB.

I appreciate the advice!  I have to wait on a couple of parts so I'm going to dig around all the Neptune threads and see what shakes out  :)

Build Reports / Re: Culturejams Neptune delay

Finally building up my Neptune.  I hope this is the right thread for such inquiries.

Is a particular intensity of LED required or more desirable?  I have a buttload of 3mm ones I got from an estate sale.  They're all pretty old and I haven't run across one yet that's particularly intense.  Also I have a few vactrols marked VTL5C1 9925.  Can one of those be used instead?

How much does using a a trimpot in place of R18 allow for tweaking of the LED onset?  What would be the optimal value for this trimmer?  50k?  Is it worth putting topside?

I built a BYOC delay kit a few years back but this is the first time I built a delay more 'from scratch' and I appreciate any/all advice.

Thanks in advance!

ALRIGHT MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Fu is one of those untouchable Way Up On A Pedestal bands in my world.  It's pretty much them and AC/DC on the top shelf.

I also just listened to your video on fb and that Shrine Fuzz slays!

Have fun and know that I am absolutely green with envy  :o

Since getting the band out in public I hear perhaps more 'heavy rock' than I ever even wanted to.  So lately I've been turning to early dub reggae and 80s rap.  I also just made a Louis CK station on Pandora and that's a great  soldering soundtrack.
