Open Discussion / Acoustic amp recommendations
September 26, 2024, 01:08:23 PM
I'm looking to upgrade my Fishman amp. The speaker just flabs out when I play loud at home. I've been scouring the webz but wanted a few opinions if any are to be had.

I don't gig. I just go into different rooms when I crank it up. Budget wise I'd say between $700-$1200 give or take.

Any thoughts? Boss Singer 60? AER 60?

Damn. It's hard to put into words what I owe them considering where it has and still is taking me in this hobby. I wondered why a lot of their stuff was out of stock for so long.

I have to admit I started reading this thread oblivious until I got a few posts down and said "wait a minunte............"  :o

Yep Lace, there are still a bunch of gremlins lurking on any given day or hour. I don't post as much because of this.

The tax thing is beyond words and just flat out wrong. A complete money grab light years beyond reasonable. Stating the obvious I live in a country that was born out of that excessiveness and I dare say it is just as bad or worse now than 200+ years ago for my European friends. It's hard to see a legitimate work around.

Thanks AN. I wish I could give an honest assessment as I only tested to make sure everything works. The reason is I ruptured my bicep  6 weeks ago and had it reattached 5 weeks ago. I've been given the go ahead to pick lightly as of today but I lost all my callous  :(   But I can assure you I'll find out in a month or so as I build back up.

Build Reports / My latest brood

So with these Aion builds when I drilled and configured everything I totally spaced on the fact that his foot pads are attached to the PCB. So after wiring everything up I went to stuff into the enclosure and well let's just say I had to do some juggling and rewiring. Explains part of the rats nest, well sort of.

Soapbox time:
Have you ever been on an airline that didn't have ANY barf bags? I was on one last night. And of course, they hit some really bad turbulence, the kind that has those wonderful free-fall drops mixed in. And yep, people started puking. But there were no bags anywhere. And since it's "company policy" that everybody (including flight attendants) have to stay where they are during turbulence, that means nobody could go to the bathroom, nobody could get any assistance, nobody could do anything about puke flying all over. By the time the plane landed, the aisles looked like a crime scene of spent napkins and piles of digested pretzels.
I'm wondering...who is the absolute bungling idiot that refused to put barf bags on the plane? What did they expect would happen when the puke starts flowing? Does somebody hate the poor souls who have to clean the planes? Yet another example of the crippling stupidity so prevalent in the world today.

:o  Dude that is a nightmare

Open Discussion / Susan Tedeschi's OD
April 14, 2024, 12:35:17 PM
So what we have below is her OD that my guitar tech neighbor ( he is Derek's and Susan's guitar tech) gave me to fix a few things on. To say I'm nervous to not screw it up in some way would be an understatement. It's got a jacked up battery cable that was "hot wired" 10 min before a show as it putzed out. The 9v jack took a Mike Tyson in his prime blow and punched it in which I assume someone stepped on it sideways or something fell on it. The more invasive thing is pulling the Vol pot B100k and replacing it. It works but where the solid shaft meets then knurled part you can actually open it up a bit. There is a lot of play. I would guess that when it was on its side and took the blow the Vol know got bent as well creating this plan in the shaft. I have since decided though since he says she has not had any issues with the pot to just leave it along.

Anyone familiar with Moollon from South Korea? I did some research. Interesting stuff on them. It is clear they really don't want anyone poking around at their PCB.

Me likes the brown. It all seems to go back and forth between brown and light as I get around.

This is more of a test for me to see what shows up.

But as an aside the wah doesn't pop for him on his rig so all is well.

This is one of Aion's. My ears really dig the fuzz on this one and it's rather interactive. I haven't messed with the PUP switch yet as I've only tested this pedal on its own. I'll stick a few pedals in front of it and see what the deal is or whether I can even tell a difference.
