I've just been reading the Build Notes which state that the three resistor arrays do not have orientation; but as one of the arrays (the 22K) is a "common bus" surely that must be orientated - one end and only one end is the common bus connector.  Or am I missing something here?  If not, which way should the bussed array be orientated?

Commercial ferric chloride stain removers are available, at least in the UK.  As far as I am aware, the only active ingredient is oxalic acid, which is available pretty much everywhere (check out ebay).

LaceSensor, I suggest that you take immediate steps to print off the description posted by the German guy when he relisted the pedal.  Given that he achieved a sale to the Japanese guy, I assume that the pedal was listed in glowing terms, as fully functional, etc, etc.  As such you can make the points that he had no complaint about the pedal during his period of ownership, and that at the time he sold the pedal to a third party it was, by his own description, fully functional.  You have no control over how he has packed the pedal when sending it half way round the world, or the perceptions of the buyer he has negotiated the sale to.

I assume, given the somewhat protracted history, that the ebay/PayPal dispute periods have long since expired.

I have not yet built or used a Lovetone Flanger but assume that it is at least as quirky as any other Lovetone Pedal.  Settings are critical and there is clearly scope for component tolerances to result in performance/sound differences between models.

My overall impression is that the German guy is taking the piss by complaining to you about his failure to give satisfaction to his customer.

I sent them an email about 5 days before Xmas asking whether they could work with ExpressPCB files (admittedly a long shot) - as yet, no reply....

It comes as a complete project with an ExpressPCB layout. 

Unfortunately, Express PCB's postage costs to the UK are prohibitive and my attempts a while back to drum up interest for a US-based order failed miserably...

Sorry for the belated response - I've overlooked the thread.

The first x0xb0x was made with parts individually sourced by me, save for a selection of "rare parts" put together by a guy in Australia.  I soldered the SMD parts without any issues.

The second x0xb0x was built using a kit produced by a very reliable Taiwanese guy called "willzyc" (or something similar - he has/had an official "seal of approval" from Adafruit to produce the kits and you will certainly find reference to him on the Adafruit forums), and I think I may have paid a bit extra to have the SMD part presoldered on that occasion.

We need a pic of it plugged in and powered up!!

What does the circuitry on the switch PCB do and where do you get the plexi-case??

Anyone have, or expecting to have, a board going spare?

Yep - I've built two.  Sold one on eBay.  Still got the other..

Strictly speaking, probably not all valve as the rectifier is almost certainly solid state (only two valves are mentioned in the description).  Still, looks like an excellent bargain!

Can't really recommend Maplins.  Range of components is minimal and prices are high.

Rapid and Farnell are obvious alternatives.  RS have certain parts that the others don't stock.

I'm fortunate enough to have a local shop (Newcastle area), ESR,  which has a surprisingly good range of parts at competitive prices.

There are an increasing number of fol supplying parts specifically for d.i.y. pedals, eg Dr Tweek.

All can be found by searching on the 'net.
