i have my urchin in a small box? would i be able to use a shorting jack and build the modulation section in a separate box? if i build a filter supply I would only have to disconnect pin1 of the delay pot and make the new connection, and ground the digital ground while the modulation is plugged in i assume i could use a stereo shorting jack and a regular guitar cable to make the connections?

Sorry I listed them like this.

I am using a DMM and grounding to the PS while taking each of these measurements.
1:+9.64v
2:+9v
3:0v
4:1.6mvv
5:+9v
6:+8v
7:+8.7v
8: +.5v

I would like to be able to use this fuzz with a one spot that is powering the rest of my effects and this seems to be the only solution i could find that will work.  so has anyone else experienced this?

I am attempting to wire up a ge poz ground fuzz face with a tc1044 chip using this layout. very similar to the road rage.

I keep frying the chip though.  I am using a power supply, connecting the out-9v to the -9v on the board and out 0v to the (positive) ground on the board.  I have the polarity of the caps correct to the road rage schematic.  Has anyone here done this?

you cannot accurately measure resistance if the pots are connected. that's true for any component.

I understand that but the readings for both pots came out the same, as in they should have somewhere around the same gain settings, but they do not.

I changed the diodes to 1n34a and finally got around to getting the gain pots metered for both units.  Ready for this?

1.5k on the top
33 on the bottom

checked it 4 times to make sure i wasn't crazy.

so why do they sound so different?

Can you tell us a little more about your build? What types of components, including any value substitutions...and what kind of diodes you used for clipping?

i used no value substitutions. All Nichicon electrolytics, all metal film box cap types for the rest like avx, wima, panasonic..  The diodes are BAT41 as per madbeans taste.

has anyone actually a/bed the sunking and a real klon?  i looked at layouts all over the internet and they are all similar to the sunking, i find it hard to believe i would be the first to do the comparison.

General Questions / Sunking a/b with klon

I did an A/B test with my klon and was wondering what mods i could do to make it closer to the real thing.

The sunking has way more bass and about half the gain of my klon.  Maybe I should post this in the mod forum?
