General Questions / Re: Batwing mod?

Thanks for the reply.
What transistor should I use and how would I wire it to the LED?
Cheers

General Questions / Batwing mod?
August 15, 2024, 05:42:48 PM
I'm just a bodger/builder, no real electronics knowledge.

Would it be possible to;
a) Add a vactrol where it is labeled CV, so that the Envelope section of the pedal could control an other pedal that has an expression input?

b) Add a switch jack where i have drawn, so that a different signal can trigger the envelope?

Cheers

Does it matter which way up the rotary switch is?

Asking as the pins are numbered.

Am I right in saying that the inverse here is same as reverse?

So not much change between no feedback (at full resistance) and 2 but better smoother control for the rest of the range?

Hey!
I got the Dandy Horse kit from Musikding and the BOM says that the feedback pot should be A10K but they sent me a C10K. Is this right or should I replace it with what the BOM asks?

Is the build guide out of date or have they subbed a part in to get the kit out to me. (Also other bits missing but not the end of the world, tho, this seems to be a consistent theme with them for me)

Cheers crew!

Mods / Batwing Autofilter Question and Mod?
March 30, 2023, 08:13:34 PM
Hey!
I was looking through the projects and I found the Batwing very interesting. I'm just a builder but trying to expand a bit. But also keep finding little guitar/synthy niche areas that don't seem to get much coverage (or at least I can find on the net)

Obviously Autowahs a split circuit. In the Batwing it clearly shows where the Envelope Follower outputs CV and the Filter requires CV in to operate.
1) Does it need anything more to send the CV out to something else other than a Switched jack?

2) What voltage is this outputting? (Asking 1&2 as I have a couple of Filters in pedal for which have CV in but are static otherwise...also I have a EXH Pitchfork ((Kinda like a Digitech Whammy)) that can accept Expression or CV 0-5V and thought that would be crazy to do maybe 🤣)

3) Similar to the previous questions could you add a switch jack in for the Filter CV? And or would it need extra circuitry? As after thinking about 1/2 it made me think about Tappy controlling the filter while the Follower sent CV to a Modified Tappy Depth 🚀🚀🚀

4) Am I right that you could split the circuit before the Sensitivity pot so that you can put dry signal in there, and distorted in through the normal input?
Or would you have to copy the circuitry before it/or this all completely off? (Why? so filter follows clean dynamics while effecting distorted signal)

Cheers for the good work. Don't worry that's all of these I think, no more mega question threads from me now🤣🤣

General Questions / Re: Tappy modification?
March 27, 2023, 12:51:27 AM
Big thanks for getting back to me!

1) Cheers!
2) So wire a switched jack in for the expression, yea?
3/4) Cheers I've found some bits in the cut down chip. I'll give ElectricDruid a shout too 👍

5/6) yea I had it wrong, again found what I need for CV in a datasheet, I'll ask on the synth forum on how to invert. Lost site abit. As a pedal it'll be only 0-5v but if I'm near modular gear, I have the power to offset easily.

General Questions / Tappy modification?
March 20, 2023, 05:06:20 AM
Hey!
I was recently looking at the Tappy project and looking at the associated Electric Druid datasheets to get an understanding of whats going on, after thinking it was a great project.
Then the other day I spied the Soundgas LFOMO and alarm bells rang immediately. They are pretty much the same thing.
Sorry for all these questions, i mostly build kits but have bodged stuff together in the past.

1) To add CV to say Rate, is it just a case of adding a switched jack that disconnects the +5V line and pipes in a 0-5V CV into pin 3 on the pot? Do I need to add anothing else to protect the circuit from over voltage from Eurorack gear?
2)Also, similarly can I add an expression pedal input between that and the pot that works as a variable resistor?
3)Adding clock sync in, is already detailed in the Electronic Druid datasheet. I see that pin 7 is Clock out, does anything need to be added between that and a jack?
4)I'm making the assumption that the offset switch on the LFOMO is just an on/off connecting pin 8 to 5v? What do you think?
5)Am I right in saying that the LED output on the Tappy is CV? if so, how would I invert the CV so you have an output going down whist another goes up?
LAST one 6) On the LFOMO there is a pot changing the range from 0-5V to 2-7V, i dont know what is going on here. Can anyone suggest whats happening?
Cheers!
