Oh, of course; it's obvious now. Thanks!

Hi, I am working on the new Stage Light and am a little confused about the orientation of Q2, the 2n5457. The build doc shows this:

Not sure what's going on with the "G" labeling on this... seems out of place?

EDIT:got it working on another browser, but it's saying the Stage Fright is out of stock ?

Apologies. I just fixed the problem with the Stage Fright button.

Brian, tried sending you an email but it got returned; I placed an order last night, then placed one this morning for the Stage fright; can you combine the orders and refund shipping on the second one?

Quote from: madbean on July 18, 2024, 04:01:13 AMIf you have any suggestions or requests for it please let loose! I'll post a pic of the new layout tomorrow with details.

Please keep asking away and I'll answer all questions as best I can.
Maybe the Archibald?

Question about the Current Lover: it may have been answered in the past, but which year/version of the Electric Mistress is the Current Lover derived from? I know the circuit changed several times in the SAD1024 years.

Yep. It's a great example of why the notion that "Leo got it right the first time" does not really hold water, IMO.

Quote from: madbean on July 03, 2024, 11:49:44 PMIt's a bit too soon to give you the BOM. I'm still prototyping. The first version was built a few months ago and I've got what I believe are the needed changes but I need to be sure first. For sure of one thing - all the 1uF film coupling caps are now electrolytic like the original Univibe. This was necessary to get it all to fit in the layout. Hendrix didn't mind, so I guess I don't either.

Have you ever been to Electrolytic Land?

Quote from: madbean on July 01, 2024, 02:39:35 PMThis will be the main project. But, I'm not against doing occasional limited runs of the HB2 for those who really want the wah enclosure version.
Cool. Assuming most of the values are carrying over from the earlier Harbinger (are they?), what are the values of the two new trimmers (DTIME and BRITE)? Probably placing a Tayda order this week and and want to have them in stock when the board gets released.

Quote from: madbean on June 30, 2024, 11:15:35 PMI'm ordering the final prototype for the HarbingerX this week. It's includes expression pedal input. I'm hoping to offer a pre-made light shield with it, too.

Fantastic! I guess it makes more sense to have the expression pedal input, rather than two separate effects.

In that case, I'll put in a request for the Harbinger(s).

Open Discussion / Re: Multiturn Trimmers?

Quote from: madbean on June 12, 2024, 03:30:00 PMEach complete turn is about 1/25th of the total resistance value of the trimpot. Som there's no resetting. They are just more convenient when you need super fine adjustments, like with calibration and biasing certain circuits.
Ah, gotcha; Thanks Brian. So, probably overkill in other circuits.

Open Discussion / Multiturn Trimmers?
June 12, 2024, 01:54:07 PM
I have a couple of perf layouts I want to try that use trimmers that have the straight, 3-in-line pins like the one pictured below.

The standard 3362Ps that most MB projects use make total sense to me, but these are a mystery. What I don't grok is the "multiturn" aspect. How and why are trimmers like these "multiturn"? If you keep turning them the knob, does the resistance reset or something? Just does not make intuitive sense to me, having not used one before (that I can recall). I know I could just bend the pins on the standard ones to fit, but I sort of want to understand these things too.

This is EXACTLY what I was going to say!

Brian, is everything currently marked SOLD OUT eventually going to be restocked, or are some effectively discontinued like the ones already marked so? I am particularly curious about the Current Lover and the Trash Compactor.

The only things that may be discontinued are projects that have been moved to the Standard Series. Current Lover will be in the first batch of restocks. The Trash Compactor is going to the SS and the new layout is already done.

The older projects are mostly going to be unchanged, just updated with my new library parts and drill spots changed slightly for a millimeter grid. Also, I'm trying to make them all compatible with either existing bypass boards or including extra ones certain projects. The two that are getting redesigned are the Kezurokai and Tone Virus. I've done new layouts for them to conform to the exact control placement of their commercial counterparts. I apologize for taking so long. Available funds are also an issue since there are so many to re-do.

Sounds great... and no need for apologies. Will the Current Lover remain unchanged? May go ahead and start prepping an enclosure.
