BTW - I should say thanks to David Rolo for coming up with the Hogweed and making the schematic available. I thought it might make this thread a bit more interesting if I showed you what my clone looked like. :-)

Hi Phil,
Not sure how those isolator blocks from irig work, but I would assume it uses a DC/DC converter and its switching frequency might not play well with this pedal.
Try a 1n cap across the collector and base of T1.Or from base to ground, see which works best, you might need to try a few values. I actually found that shaving some of the hi end off helped with the octave being more prominent.

maybe a couple of 100n caps going from 9V to ground may quieten it

I think the biggest factor that pulls me back to doing my own powder coating is the color selection and effects. Transparency, glitter, holographic flicks, anodized, textured, flat, chrome, illusion, rainbow (flick)... they look awesome...
I think i need to order some new powders

Thanks, inkjet clear sticker film with an extra sheet stuck over the printing for protection.
Interesting. How durable is the sticker film using this approach?
It seems fine as there are hex bolts holding down the brass as well as the pots keeping everything together. I know that Devi Ever also used this method (with Papillo paper) on her pedals

Been a while since we had a powder coating thread

So im just wondering what everyone's expectations are as far as bought powder coated enclosures and whether i'm just the eternal perfectionist. To me, unless it looks like a commerical product (ie, impossible to do in a garage), i'm not 100% happy.
Also are you guys still PC'ing your own or do you buy them? its a big mess and time consuming, so i certainly understand if you buy them!

That's pretty neat. What do armidillo's eat? plants and bugs?
90+% insect based, supplemented with the occasional egg, lizard, frog, or baby mouse if they happen across them. Very little vegetable matter.Quote from: Philtre on July 01, 2018, 01:46:56 PM
Well, I recently built a modified Fuzz Factory clone and called it the "Fuzzadillo".
Excellent Fun fact, the common armadillo of North America (9-banded, as seen above) cannot roll into a ball. Only the 3-banded Armadillos of South America have that particular trick (Your graphic is biologically accurate!).
....Not entirely sure how this thread got side tracked into Armadillo Facts, but ok!
