Like for this MB Egghead pcb (1590A) I have sitting around. I can't find them (at least not in the values I need) at Tayda, Smallbear or Mouser.

I suppose I can just eschew the adorable little daughter pcb that requires them and try to adapt the more common vertical mount pots to the space, but I just wanted to check if someone has a source for them first - space looks to be tight, after all.

Ditto! I built one, and it's absolutely the handiest thing to have on your pedalboard for a tailored lead boost. I built mine in a 1590B, but I'm planning on rehousing it possibly in a 1590BB along with an extra footswitch in for a built-in Juggler with FX loop, so I can switch it on the fly from post distortion (like I have it now) to pre-distortion, where it can really kick your dirt up a notch with a mid or pseudo-treble boost.

Sorry to revive the zombie. Matthias, or if anyone knows, is the choice of transistors is critical? Would any high hfe or medium BJT do? Is hfe (or any other particular characteristic) important? I have 5c546, BC550, 2N5088, 2N5089, 2N3904. MPSA18... Just not BC547C.

I think more is being made of this than it deserves. The aptly initialed MF has always been at best tactless, at worst an a-hole of the first order. The rant that he is being attacked for fits neatly into this long-time pattern, and, as noted, was probably helped along by a fair bit of lubrication, but it is no worse. It really shouldn't be twisted into signs of racism or some other uber-sin. He is pissed off about looters and vandals destroying small businesses, and about political leaders, in his view, failing to do anything about it, that's all. He certainly did not say anything untoward or unsupportive about George Floyd or victims of police violence generally or people of color; he also did not express anything but support for those demonstrating for justice. Even if his jabs at politicians were put in misogynistic terms, that was probably just MF being MF. Honestly, I really think this is much ado about not much.

Diversify, people. Even Brian pops in at diysb from time to time.

That is very kind of you to notice I feel like every 2 or 3 years I make a bit of a leap in design and execution. It just goes to show everyone can do better no matter what level one is at! Hopefully that does not come off as egotistic.

Come on, you have to have some pride in your work to do stuff as focused, meticulous and creative as you do. Nothing wrong with that, or with raising the bar. (Although the challenge is kind of lost on me--someone whose idea of a pretty pedal is matching the color of my Dymo labels to the powdercoat.)
