Build Reports / Re: Single PCL84 amplifier build

I like this (also just bought a carton of PCL84/15DQ8).

What did B+ end up being?

Thanks

OK, I'm not crazy (no more than before...)...on my phone, I keep opening the 1.1 instrux (maybe for the v1.1 BOARD, not BUILD), and that does lack a few parts. I understand why, and still found the 1.5 board parts list (and my own answer) using a laptop...phone is a less-than ideal method.

Maybe I'm the only person who has opened the wrong version instrux, but that's another good thing to double-check (note to self, if no one else).

NEVER MIND. I shouldn't read things late at night. The parts values are right there in the instructions.

If I omit the VU components as recommended, the space for the parts leading up to the on-board trimmer offer an option for something else...like an on-board level control. I'm not sure why I would use it, but it occurred to me that two outputs at different levels might be useful for something...no idea what...feed another signal chain, a looper, an FX loop? I have the vocabulary figured out, but not the ingenuity.

I don't know what kind of enclosure I will use...but I don't have a need to fit a standard 1590 type enclosure.

Kind of a luxury to have extra breadboard area...you don't always have that 'bonus'.

Any thoughts?

Thank you

Hi:

I bought some boards from TH Custom...some time ago...maybe a year or so...including some Merlin's U-Boat PCB's. They are V 1.5, red, and have a 10/2014 date silkscreened on them.

I am confused about a few parts laid out on the board that I don't find in the v 1.1 'manual'. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, or in the wrong place...
