Mods / Re: Uproar: more, tighter gain?

Mods done! Sounds way better. Also, the tone knob actually does something now!

I owe you a beer!

Any ideas? I just want to tame a bit of the "gristle." Make it a bit tighter, a bit more smooth/searing.

Bumpin dis. Still curious if there's a way to tighten it up a bit, and make it a bit smoother.

I think one big problem people are having with the tone knob is they're not using a REVERSE log pot.

That bullet casing = giving me a boner.

Great work!

I love my uproar, but want to squeeze out more gain. But, once the gain knob gets past noon, things mush out, so I can't quite get into metal territory.

Any mod ideas?

Yes sorry, the clipping toggle. Not sure if I'd have to jumper anything, etc?

I just want to hard-wire my Uproar to use the middle position, and remove the toggle. What's the easiest way to do this?

Thanks!

What would be the easiest to simply hard wire the diodes used in the middle position?

Nice! I'll probably ad some sockets and swap things.

Filtering some high-end pre-gain is probably fine, since distortion is just harmonics, which will add some brightness inherently.

Thanks for the idea!

Great build! I compared it to my Riot and it's pretty much spot on!

A few things though; I find that the Uproar is a touch more crispy/farty. Any ideas as to what could smooth that out? FWIW I'm using mostly Panasonic caps and metal film resistors.

Also, the tone knob is not doing much... but I realized that might be because I'm using a 10k linear... but I believe it's actually supposed to be a 10 reverse log?

Also, what effect would increasing or decreasing C8, C9, and C10 have, once I get the sweep/impact of the tone knob right, I'm open to moddng the frequency range of the tone section.

Thanks!

So it won't work to simply follow this approach, but just leave one cap out?
