VFE Projects / Re: New built-in bypass switching

Now I have some time to thinking and I think I find a fault in the downloadable document. I look for the original schematic and the pcb trace and the second pin of the pic connects to nothing in the new design. The 1n4148 is only a flyback diode for the relay.
It uses only pin 4 for the footswitch and pin 5 for the switching and of course the supply pins.

VFE Projects / New built-in bypass switching

I have some question about the "new built-in bypass switching" that used in the Dragon board.
It is completly redesigned and stripped down. It uses non-latching relay and leave the muting circuit.
The relay get the +5v fix and the ground through a cheap fet which is controlled by the pin 5 of the pic simultaneously with the led.
1. I think the pin 2 of the controller looks for the generated positive spike when the relay switched off. But what for?
2. How does the pop filtering made?

Am i on the right way? Can someone explain me the operating of this part?

Thank you
