Just received the "VFE Fiery Red Horse" PCB. I don't see a drill template in with the BOM. Should I look somewhere else on the site, or do I need to construct my own?

Thanks for the replies! Yes, it was a new site glitch. Got a message that my stuff is sitting in Customs now, but it's on the way. I usually limit my overseas purchases to vendors I trust, (Paul: DIY Guitar Pedals, Fuzz Dog PCBs, etc), but they are one of two places that carry the ME4004, and I love the sound!

Just a heads up...I think. I recently made a purchase for the vendor Silicon Ark. I like to use ME4003s in place of 5088s, but they are VERY hard to find. So, I found a bunch at Silicon Ark, as well as some gold plated SIP sockets, (snap-off). I placed the order on November 15th, and I've tried to connect with the site to check on my order status. There WAS a "site down for maintenance" message, but now the site is gone and I'm out $22+. Hope no one else got screwed!

I know this is VERY old, but this was one of my first builds, and the enclosure came out crap! Just wanted to update with a powdercoated 125B, but the Deadpool link over on Keefe's side is dead. Anyone know where I can get this?

WORKING CIRCUIT!! Yaay Me.
A few notes to first timers building this. It's a nice sounding circuit, and worth the time (and $) to build. 1. I used a 220p for C3, and my build still worked. When EQ knobs are at minimum it does seem a little bassy, but maybe that's the orginal circuit. I got anything from a LP filter overdrive sound to a HP classic 60s/70s Rock sound just by messing with the Treb/Bass knobs, and my guitar volume.
2. I did invest in the BC169 / BC184L , and BC109s (which I had already). *Special Note* BC169 & 184L need leg twisting, (make sure none of the legs touch!). 109 goes in reverse.
3. No squealing with this build. Brian's update fixed all that. With mine I did find that towards the end of the Gain it went from Overdrive to a flat out High Gain monster, so mind the volume on your Amp!

This has been posted, but has not been addressed specifically. I'm beginning to build the "Chunk Chunk" PCB. In the build docs Brian recommends using shielded wire on either the input and/or the output jacks. I use daughter boards from either (Ben) Rullywow, Fuzz Dog, or (Paul) DIY Guitar Pedals. I've found shielded wire at SB (RG-174), but I'm wondering if it will fit daughter board pads? I usually use SB 24 pre-bonded.

Thank you! I soldered the wires to the TOP of the board, and then ran them around the left hand side. Next time I'll solder to bottom so I have a straight shot...

Unfortunately...I pitched the circuit. I bought some Neutriks Mono enclosed jacks that may have been the problem. I use Lumberg KLBM3s usually, and they work great. Guess I'll try again on a different circuit. The BIGGEST issue is I've never received clarification on using a daughter board for installing, and operating a light plate. I've read the DIY Pedal post, but it DOESN'T address using daughter boards! Star wiring has aways seemed more complex to me, so I've NEVER tried, (although Guitar Pedal Parts has these very COOL lighted 3DPDT switches so I may have to force myself to learn). Has anyone use a board to set-up their plate?

I put up a post regarding light plates, and installation questions a while back. I built "Pasteyface",
which worked and sounded great! However, after I put the pedal together with the light plate set-up and tested it, I got this horrible hum through my amp without even turning the pedal on. When I did turn the thing on, it was worse!
I assumed that the light plate acted as a glorified bypass LED, so I wired a socket to the place on the daughter boards I use, where I usually put the engaged/disengaged LED. I guess there are some circuits that can't handle these things...
Sorry I wasted time and money finding that out! Off to get a NEW Pasteyface PCB.
