Great work.  Hopefully reviving this thread could turn it into a DIY project!  This has been one of my most sought after effects!

Found it.   Soldering the lead to R15 wasn't the right connection, needed to be R14.  Works fine now.  Thanks for the help.  It sounds good.

I'm not sure if i have a 1m resistor but i should have something close laying around.  First i'm going to go to radioshack and get another op amp.  Somehow throughout the night it got a little better.  Now it sounds normal for about the first 25% of the gain knob, 25%-75% it squeals, last 25% it rumbles.  Very strange.  I'll be back.

Doublechecked the values, everythings good.  It was working great before I tampered with it.  The gain pot was wired backwards so I reversed that, I wanted to change the color of the led and change the electrolytics to higher voltage ones.  At some point I must've fried something (as well as taking the pads off the 10uf and led).  I swapped out the op amp too with a spare I had laying around and the sounds/oscillations changed on the new op amp but its still messed up.  I lost my audio probe, that'd be very helpful right now.  Hopefully I can salvage this before tomorrow night.

Still no luck. Remelted the joints, cleaned the board, checked wiring.. Lesson learned: if it aint' broke, don't fix it, cause you'll break it.

hey thanks for the reply.  I tried jumping the positive pad of C10 to the grounded leg of R15 and it helped.  It won't squeal anymore if the gain knob is down, but as you turn it up itll start feeding back and when its maxed it goes into a low, rumbling self oscillation.  Might make a good Atoner but this is not the time for that.    Show on saturday and id love to use this thing. 

Built the Egodriver, and its squealing and feeding back like crazy.  My soldering iron was too hot so it took off the pos pad of C10 and also the led.  I removed C10 and soldered wires to the top side of the board for the led.  Lights up, gets bypass, OD works but theres an overpowering squealing and chaos going on.  It can be controlled by the gain pot.  Could be a cool noise device but I really wanted an OD.  Any suggestions?  I remember I asked about C10 previously, I think it was fine to leave off.  Is my gain pot broke maybe?  Anything I should try? 

Alright cool.  Glad its not lost.  Thanks for the help.  I'm going to wire it up and see if I should add the cap.  I left off R1 because the original doesn't have it, do you know if the original has the filter cap, Madbean?   

So I lifted the positive side of C10 on both sides of the Egodriver board somehow.  (was desoldering out 16v electrolytics to put in 25v). Is this board dead now or can I fix it somehow?  The whole board is populated, haven't done the wiring yet, this just happened now.  What should i do.  Thanks.   

Yeah that'll work fine.  I used that same diagram for a 2 in 1 fuzz box.  Putting 2 effects in one box is pretty simple. Its basically just eliminating the output jack of effect 1 and the input jack of effect 2 - instead of the wires going to the jacks it goes directly to each switch.  Then both effects would share 9v and grounds.   

I know the slambox is negative ground but not sure about the zombii.  i might've read something awhile ago that its a positive ground and thats why it makes the crazy squealing, not sure though cause you would think it would fry people's 1spots.  Hopefully someone who knows more will chime in.

I'm in the same boat maysink.  We're more assemblers than designers. 

But just wanted to say after looking at some vids, that is a rad pedal.  As for your problem, I just built a tremolo and it was also very faint at first.  This particular one had 3 trimpots, 1 for the led, 1 for the optocoupler and 1 for volume.   They all had to be tweaked for it to sound good.  From the looks of your pics I dont see an opto or trimpots but you may not have enough power going to the lune part of the board.  Don't know if that helps but if it is a power thing then maybe you should try to get the op amp meant for it. 

I built this envelope filter and I forgot to order the op amp so just tried some leftovers I had.  Didn't work, couldnt figure out why, finally got the right op amp, popped it in the socket and it was alive.

Sorry I can't be of more help but if you really want to get to the bottom of this, just email whoever designed the pedal. 

I usually just make my wires really short and feed them into the topside of the board, keeps it tied down.  Then I'll put a piece of thin cardboard under the pcb and wrap it in electric tape.  Not the prettiest but pretty durable.

Well thanks for the input but I don't want to build it just cause its more expensive.  I have gigs coming up and would like a nice od to add to the rest of the customs and store-bought pedals to add to sound, not so much a discount.

Thanks for all the input.  Having both would be rad, probably will end up doing that now that I found this site.  (The amount of drill bits i buy and break will easily outweigh the cost of both boards)  But looks like OCD will come first and Neutrino comes down the road. 

I like the idea of having more gain to push into a fuzz and these mods for the OCD interest me, I'd like to hear more about them.  I know they made 4 versions of the OCD but I can never trust people who buy them stock, usually its a "mine's better, no mine's better" argument.  What changes did you guys make?
