It's on/on.

I was assuming, but didn't want to resolder. I may start soldering today even

will do in time.... the breadboard version is promising

getting ready to solder.. does this take an spdt on/on or on/off/on? I'm thinking the former?

I love runoffgroove designs so I've designed quickly a PCB for you.
Check the attached files and tell me if you want me to put the PCB on OSHPARK.

oh please do!

I know there's a vero layout, but does anyone make a PCB? Preferably to fit in a 1590b?

Quote from: culturejam on July 02, 2024, 03:35:20 AMLate to the party, but yes you definitely can use that setup in a Tubescreamer.

Well we breadboarded. Nothing hugely spectacular with a TS circuit. Sounds great in a RAT through

Quote from: movinginslomo on June 15, 2024, 01:31:44 AMwhat is the process? It involves a UV light somehow?

UV cures the ink quickly which, in some applications, can make for some cool stacking/texturing effects. It also enables printing on various non-flat surfaces.

Tayda offers a more simple service: white underlay layer (for printing onto dark enclosures), a color layer, and a varnish layer with either gloss or matte finish (they call it a "gloss" layer with "varnish" or "matte" finish for some reason).

Here's their page, which can be ...difficult to read, as there's a lot of text.

It can be difficult to set up the file (they have very specific requirements to—at least I'm assuming based on my print design experience—to streamline the pre-press process, so they ask for it only one way). Although there are a number of tutorials out there to get it to work with Inkscape or Affinity Designer.

ah.. interesting...

Open Discussion / Dano (beavis) RAT diode mod
June 15, 2024, 01:26:07 AM
on Dano's (beavis) website he had archived a rat diode mod using switch between LED'S (tried and done, Turbo RAT) and a 1n34a - IRF520 MOSFET diode pair as seen HERE

I am going to try them in a RAT circuit on the 'ol (actually new) breadboard.. my question.. can I also use these in a tubescreamer circuit? (my next to play with) worst I could attempt to contact Dano himself but I figured I'd ask here

In terms of pure "gold" (knowledge) these sights are a must

http://geofex.com/ R.G. Keen's knowledge-base

http://beavisaudio.com/ Dano's (Beavis) famous project site, now back online and he's back experimenting again after a long hiatus

https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php The original (and other) DIY forum, where guys like Z.Vex, Wampler and Josh of JHS contributed and got their start. Great old professors there such as Paul R. and Mark Hammer and R.G. Keen

also the ton of kit and pcb sites such as this and others too numerous to list, maybe some will compile a bunch here there are many

Quote from: peAk on May 18, 2024, 02:40:16 AMI am not sure what circuit streams you are talking about but I did just watch that Beach Boys thingie. It was cool but mostly because of Chris Cron.

Nothing against Josh or Rhett, but Chris stole the show by far.

It's livestreams from his basement where he's using a breadboard (by coppersound pedals affordable and solid if you don't want to roll your own) to take basic schematics and explain them, then mod them. His first three were based on the EHX lpb-1 (right out of an RCA transistor manual by Bob Myers!) and the last one was the electra distortion circuit. In the last one he's explaining how you want to test and bias your transistors. He does a pretty good job of explaining the stuff in a simple say us boneheaded solder jockeys can understand.
