General Questions / Re: MXR Carbon Copy
March 21, 2016, 07:54:02 PM
Wow! I knew the CC used a different chip, but I never realized it was that rare. Honestly, I'm not sure this guy is too terribly particular, but rather, just knows that the CC is a good pedal. Thanks for all of the help from both of you!

General Questions / MXR Carbon Copy
March 21, 2016, 01:44:43 PM
I've had a colleague ask me about making a copy of an MXR Carbon Copy Delay.  After doing some research, I've found that the old Sea Urchin board from MB may be my best shot.  However, I'm sure there are other people out there that know FAR more than I do about this subject.  Any suggestions out there for close copies of the Carbon Copy?

How Do I? Beginner's Paradise. / LED Wiring
February 08, 2016, 11:42:54 AM
Hello all!

I am working on my first vero build, a buffered splitter pedal that does not use a foot switch. Easy enough, but I'm going to wire an LED to turn on when the pedal is plugged in. I know the positive end of the LED gets wired to the 9v on the power jack via a resistor. My question is where do I need to wire the other end of the LED?

Open Discussion / Hipster for Bass
April 24, 2015, 07:31:05 PM
I've got a leftover 1590A enclosure and several different components laying around my workbench.  I was looking at building a Hipster, but I was curious if anyone has tried to modify this for bass, or hopefully, it needs no modification.  I know a few have upped the value of C2, but that's the only info I've heard about modding this board.

Open Discussion / Octave Pedals: HELP PLEASE?!?!
March 26, 2015, 07:49:10 PM
A friend of mine asked if I could build him an octave pedal.  He says he just wants a clean, one octave below type pedal, which works for me, but what pedals are out there that can do that job?  I know the Lowrider does FAR more than that and would probably be overkill for what he wants.  I like both the Wolfshirt and the Retrograde, but if I'm looking for clean, would turning the fuzz knob on all the way down give me a clean, lower octave or would is it meant to be run with fuzz in some fashion?  Input would be greatly appreciated!  :D

General Questions / Bass Effects
February 27, 2015, 01:18:22 PM
Hey everybody!

I am a bass player and looking at some different effects to build for my rig, specifically the MBP Naughtyfish.  I have read some threads that mention that this pedal with the given values don't speak as well for bass as it probably could.  I'm new to the pedal game, but I was wondering if anyone had any leads on values to help make the Naughtyfish, or any other pedal for that matter, more bass friendly?

Nice work.
I like the chickenheads on one knob jobs.

I agree. Chicken heads just have that look about them!

Build Reports / uAmp Triplets

I told a few of my friends that I wanted to stretch my wings a little and build some more pedals.  Apparently, they were very creative because all three that I asked came back with the same pedal idea! Thus, I build three Rollywow uAmps in various colors.  If nothing else, all three pedals sound great and it helped me pay more attention to detail.  I really tried for getting the wiring to look nearly identical in all three.  I only got one gut shot because the other two are the same routing, but this one was, by far, the one I'm most proud of.

Build Reports / Re: Bass Cupcake: 1st Build

Thanks for all the comments guys! I'm always up for better my craft in anything that I do and to find a group as supportive as this one is really neat!

To answer a few questions about the build:

The stereo jack was used because, at the time, it's all I had and I didn't realize I didn't need it with the 3PDT board.  Grounding both jacks was something I did by following the wiring diagram on the 1776 Effects website.

As far as the +/- pads on the left.  Those were originally wired into my DC jack, but because of a huge mess up on my part, then fix, then realizing what I did the first time was correct, I just ran new lines to the right side pads.  These things really DO work better when you have the correct power supply!  :)

I love it! Really rounds out my sound in all the right places!  ;)

A few of the guys I play with are wanting boost pedals, so I'm looking at a Rullywow uAmp.  However, I'm open to any and all suggestions.

First off, this is my very first build.  While the wiring isn't has neat as I would have liked for it to be, the pedal is working and sounds great!  I have officially gotten the pedal building bug!
