I did build Guitar PCB's version of the Zen Drive and I do love it.... I guess that's why the Alpha Drive is so appealing ..

Requests / Alpha Drive ?
April 29, 2011, 04:11:22 PM
I've seen quite a few videos on this Freekish Blues brand pedal and its really impressive.

Here's one example:  http://www.youtube.com/user/Burgerman666#p/u/0/jYpzqBUy6B8

Here's the company site:  http://www.freekishblues.com/AlphaDrive.html

Are there any plans to clone this guy?  Or is there something out there now that I'm missing?

thanks

I've built the General Guitar Gadget and GuitarPCB versions. Of the three I like this one the best.  I think the tone is a little less dark and the clipping options provide more versatility.  I am still new at this so I do not have the experience of many here,  but so far this is my favorite.

Good job on the loris !

Do you plan on uploading any sound clips?

I have dealt with Blake over at Mammoth on several issues and he is usually very responsive and really good about making things right.

Send him an email...

Open Discussion / Newark.com - Data Point

I know we are always searching for places to get parts at a good price with good customer support.   I just wanted to tell you that I placed a fairly large order with Newark.com and wow.. Im really impressed.

1)  Shipping time:  Ordered on 4-1-11 at 3pm... received 4-5-11.
2)  Prices..  Electrolytics 1 to 3 cents,  ceramic caps 1 to 2 cents...list goes on.
3)  Packaging:  The ESD items were placed in ESD film and sealed, then sandwiched between pink ESD foam, then placed in a easily accessible cardboard box with very detailed label.   Each ESD item was in its own box.   All other items were superbly packaged with labels.
4)  Customer service:  I ordered the wrong size electro caps (way too big..high voltage).  When I spoke with the rep, which was no wait time, he told me to keep them and credited my account !

I have ordered from SB, PPP and Mammoth and havent seen this level of quality yet.
