Maybe look into 2 sided etching and move on up to more interesting circuits !
As you seem to be education others on PCB etching, then maybe you should master that process, I use guide holes to align both sides and just parcel tape to protect the other side,firstly to protect the virgin copper then to protect the traces on the etched side, is good practise to keep the through board connecting pads large until you get precise !
