Thanks. It is inspired from the original, it is already a kind of copy...

I tend not to be a fan of multi-colored knobs. You just proved to me that it can work. This looks smashing!
Me too ! First idea was 3 blue. But one of these cheap knobs from tayda broke when i screwed it. And of course only 3 left in my stock... So I tried different colors and finally I left my "knob color test" setup...

Build Reports / Naughty Fish

Hello,

Here is my build of the Naughty Fish.  Stock build with the volume pot option.

Not so easy to fit in a 1590B box, need to follow carefully the drill template.

My first enveloppe filter. Very happy with the results, i need now to learn some funky riffs...

Yeah, looks really good! I love how my unboxed one sounds. I've pretty much settled on a bare metal look for mine as well, and have been questioning folks who have done so successfully. So, my questions are:

1) Did you do any sanding on the enclosure? If so, what grits?
2) Is that a waterslide decal?
3) What kind of clearcoat did you find looked good with this--something glossier, or more "matte"?

Thanks!

Bret

Thanks !

1) Yes, lightly at 300, just in order to clean enclosure surface.
2) Yes
3) It is a satin clearcoat found in my local store. In fact I always use the same because all my glossy attempts were great failures...

Here is my Lowrider

Long to build, but fun to play.

Socketed C10 and C12 but I left the stock values. Used 2n5457 transistors as suggested, I can confirm it sounds better than the stock 2SK30

Build Reports / DOD 250, Microamp and Distortion+
July 01, 2014, 07:51:46 PM
DOD 250 "gray", micro amp, Distortion+ trio. All using the same PCB.

Very nice and simple circuit. Really like the dod250. Good alternative to my tubescreamer. I've also tried DOD YJM308 specs, which is just a smaller input cap giving more treble...and liked it too. So I plan to build a second one in a B box with an input cap switch...

Big fail on the dist+
I drilled for DC jack on the wrong side of the enclosure. I filled it with an ugly piece of metal with my ugly signature on it. Quite disapointed with this one...

SHO boost  heavily modded  to go one louder  :-)

First attempt to do my own PCB from eagle  :  I missed to add DC filter cap and protection diode on my board...I've also drilled output jack too close from the board.

Anyway, I managed to build it and I have the extra push I was looking for.

Build Reports / Stage Fright

Hi,

This is my first build from madbean. A Stage Fright Phaser I called "Dark Phaser".

Never used a phaser before, so i'm not sure about the trimmer settings. Anyway, it sounds very nice to me as it is.
