Ah, thanks I get it now. I can see the LED corresponding with the up/down, bright/dim mode. Although the first position, up/down sounds like it is doing a lot more then the other, which sounds much thinner. I am intending on using this for bass. I wonder if this makes any difference?

I am building the double sided pcb. I edited my OP for corrections. I meant to say that the overview talks of a up/down switch, which I saw demonstrated in a uTube video. Didn't notice it doesn't now have one until it was all built. It was one of the things that attracted me in the first place. Was it removed/replaced for a good reason?

Also, is there anything that would make this pedal more voiced for bass? Not that it doesn't sound quite good already.

General Questions / 'nother nautilus question
December 11, 2013, 10:04:22 PM
I didn't notice until I powered up and bench tested my madbean nautilus that the project overview mentions an up/down switch, but the pcb and schematic has a range switch in it's place. I will be using this on bass guitar, and was actually looking forward to the up/down switch. Anyone know where it went?

General Questions / Re: Nautilus cap question

I went to my local supply house and measured several 2000 pF rated ceramics until I found two that measured 1800 and 1740. Close enough, and it works first time powered on!

General Questions / Nautilus cap question

Hello. I have everything I need for a nautilus build, except the two 1n8 caps. How imperative is this value, could I use 1500 pF instead? Thanks.

I am closing in on finishing a Nautilus, and I notice the pc mount pots are very close indeed to the circuit board. I wonder what is the preferred method for making sure they don't short out the board? A non-conductive sheet of material placed between, perhaps?

Open Discussion / Nautilus rotary switch question

Forgive me if this has already been knocked around, I'm new here and just learning my way around.

Why does the nautilus call for a 3P4T mode switch when it appears that a 1P3T or even a 2P3T would do? Am I missing something? Thanks.

Hi everyone! First post. I am planning on building my first pedal, a nautilus. (I have built several guitar amps). I wonder what is the recommended enclosure for this project? Thanks!
