General Questions / Causality 4 MkII query
December 22, 2014, 11:15:12 PM
So I built the Causality4. It's a nice Phaser too.
From this thread
http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=80456.0
(feel free to remove the link Mods if it's not welcome)
schematic on page 6
I also built the additional stages mod on the same perfboard.
Heres my question
Can I make the additional stages switchable and if so how please?
additional stages mod on page 12
Thanks
Rich

this is the same sort of switch type 1

http://www.smallbearelec.com/servlet/Detail?no=900

Ive tested with the DMM so I now know which pin is 1
but the pdf is not so helpful as both sets of switch pads are numbered 1 2 3
grrrrr
thanks MMLee

Is the sqaure pad pin1?

Thanks Jon
I figured the cap would be ok from looking at the schematic I just wanted some confirmation as usual. I like to ask just in case there's something I'm missing.
I also figured that the 1/2w Zener would be fine seeing as it's only a stomp box and is unlikely to have more than that kinda power anywhere in the circuit.
Cheers I'll go ahead and get me some.
I'm so looking forward to finishing this. I guess I'll just have to wait for the charge pump  and on on on switch, after I do the off board wiring tonight.
Appreciate the affirmation

anyone know a good source of lt1054 please
i thought i had some but instead i have tc1044spca sheesh

Edit
I found some on bitsbox (not affiated)
do you guys think £2.60 +pp (I guess around $3.5) Is a fair price?

Except the lt1054 and off board wiring and zener diode the board is now populated.
I'm getting excited.

Thank you Jon.
I've built the lune and it's by far the best tremelo to date I've done.
I'm fairy certain I've also built a variation of the afterlife too. I'll have to double check.
Thanks for the advice

I'd still check the 9v output with a dmm to be sure.
I'm not aware of the trex is it a regulated supply?
If you want I'll send you a 3101 I have a few spares.

Thanks mate.
Another question then sine there's a vast difference in turn off time bete the vtl5c3 (3.5's) and the nsl32 which has a turn off time of 500's.
Is it possible to reduce the nsl32s off time and therefore limit ripple ?
Thanks
I'm sure it's been considered before.

I grabbed a couple of these at the weekend.
Anyone know some worthwhile projects to use them in please.
Ps I like my envelope filters

Thanks. Guys.
I looked at something similar on ebay. But decided they where too small to fit the pub given that they're sub minis and the whole switch body is less than 9mm and the holes in the Madbean pub have a 5mm spacing.
They're a fair price though so I might just get some for stock
I never though of looking on cpc despite having an account. Doh.
I'll have a good scout round pcs other switch in case.
Cheers guys
