So I finally got time to work in this project... but I still have the "pop" issue.

I used the DMM to adjust the clock which gave a great result, now the sound is sweeter, no doubt. Thank you very much for that tip.

But the pops are still there just the same, if I move the bias trim the pops disappear in the same point that the flange disappear, so no sucess in that area. Any other ideas? :'(

About the background noise, you were absolutely right, a little wire movement and improves, so I'm not really worried, when I finally box it will be easy to get it right.

My take on the Egodriver OCD, not much to comment. Problem free build as always.
A great overdrive/distortion, with a broad range of sounds. Everything that it promises is there. To be honest the character of the distortion is somewhat tame and elegant (sounds very pro, indeed), but it lacks wildness for my tastes, not a bad thing and I understand how this can be so well rated by many players, but I was not as thrilled as I am with other stuff.
Still feels like a very useable tool so I will keep it, I think I will end up using it more than expected.

Thanks for the help,

I'm using a Road Rage for the 15V.
I don't have an oscilloscope, but I could probably get a DMM with FQ function, how should I use it to fix this?

""Your clock to the BBD and the BBD bias are not in the correct range.""
How can I check/fix this?

Hi,

I'm in the process of biasing and adjusting the effect and I'm having 2 noise issues.
1-   In certain Range and Rate combinations, Range between 2 and 4 o'clock AND Rate between 11 and 1 more or less, there's a clearly audible POP-POP (2 pops!) every few seconds, the distance between them varies with the Rate, so I think this has something to do with the clock signal getting into the audio signal. You can clearly hear it even when you are playing, so is something I need to fix.
2-   When I'm not playing there's some background noise, like picking distant radio signals, not audible when playing and wonder if it is maybe normal or not.

Any tips to fix that?

Apart from that, the effect is working and I'm getting pretty sweet sounds from it, so I guess I'm close to finishing it.

Thanks guys,

Build Reports / Slow Loris - White RAT

My take in a true classic, I'm not confident enough to try white labels on a black box, so I went the opposite and built this white RAT.

The diodes are a pair of 1N4148 and a pair of 1N60P. LEDs also sounded great, but 1N60s won the contest.

Nothing new I can say about the sound, I love the mean and dirty distortion it delivers. You like it or not, but there's nothing like a RAT. Love to have an extra clipping option. The sweep control is good to tame the beast and expand the usability, but to be honest I use it down most of the time, I like it raw.

Great project and PCB if you want to take the RAT path.

Another great drive/distortion project. As the circuit itself and the build doc suggest this pedal is close to the distortion + in sound, thus I named it as my project D+ "Mustard".
What I like (compared to a D+) is that you can get more dirt with the gain maxed and it has some fuzz-like sound, so you can go from soft drive to dirty distortion, and with extra flexibility of a tone control.
For the diodes I choose 1N34As (stock) and 1N4148s, that give different distortion, less volume and more fuzz appeal with the germanium and more "standard" drive with the silicons, I also used a little bit of the "softness" trimmer with the 1N4148s, that gives extra headroom and openness to the sound. I think it's a great feature so you can have 2 very different clipping options, that give you variety.
