An audio probe is nothing special. I literally make one with alligator clips and a jack, I don't even bother soldering something together anymore. You're just poking a capacitor connected to your guitar cable at a spot in the circuit you want to listen to.

I've done work with them a few times and did a couple charity concerts. Dierdra (who's been running it for years) will get an instrument repaired before donating it if needed, or have a local artist turn it into an objet d'art if it can't be repaired and auction it off to fund fixing instruments that can be donated.

The donations go to local schools and for veterans' music therapy and it's extremely cost-effective charity. I picked her charity over several others that do instrument/music related donations because I really like her "no-waste" attitude.

She's in Annapolis now, and she'll usually pick stuff up or meet you halfway.

I just figure we're all worm food in the end, and hence the universe doesn't care how much most of us fail.

Yesterday, I visited my office for the first time in over a year (I had to pick a few personal belongings).  The building was completely deserted, but things were still where I left them like the place was abandoned suddenly in the wake of a catastrophic disaster (because it was).  It was creepy, like walking into a movie about the apocalypse.  The only thing spoiling the scene was the fact that all the lights were still working.

We're only allowed to go into the office with permission and we need a damn good reason to do so, but the lights are all on (they're motion sensed), the vending machines are stocked, etc. It really is kind of creepy.

I believe I'll no longer have an office when we open back up. I can do everything I currently do from home, but unfortunately might get stuck with some project work that uhhh requires my physical presence in a specific location, which is really irritating if I'm being honest.

I've kinda stopped looking for black bean burgers after learning J. Kenji-Lopez's recipe. It's amazing on every level.

Made "Mexican" pizza last night: churizsoy crumbles, tomatillos, queso Oaxaca, onions, and urfa. Quite good!

A friend uses it quite a bit, probably four or five songs per set.

I tried it and I hugely prefer a volume pedal even though I know it doesn't do all the same things.

I'm currently rewatching Archer again. I can't believe how well it holds up every time.

I settled on fairy leaky 2n404 with hfe around 50 in mine.

Same, but only Q1 was leaky for me. Note Q1 is also biased with a different technique, that may have something to do with it.

I would also do a search on DIYstompboxes, a couple of folks there have measured old units for multiple 60s fuzzes.

It's almost embarrassing how hard it is to get good grits in Baltimore, though Quaker is worth buying in a pinch. My favorite thing to do with it is set it into a loaf, slice it up, and fry it in butter. It's actually kind of funny how we've always had White Lilly flour for making biscuits here, and I can walk a mile in any direction to get some decent soul food, but there's just random food stuffs that don't seem to be popular a smidge too far north.
