I flipped it around and plugged it in and all I get now is a high pitched feed back and the IC and the pt2399 heats up fast. I didn't leave it on for more than 30 seconds and it was hot to the touch. I had some effect sound before but now it's just feedback type squeal and heat. Any suggestions would be cool.

Holy crap it's been staring me in the face for ages lol. Thank you so much for the extra eyes and speedy input guys. I rewired, reflowed and reworked this thing a whack of times. I will flip that around and let you know how it go's. Again thank you so much.

Hers is the front of my board. Hope this is ok since I was not the original poster here. We did seem to have similar problems with the build. I'm learning but a little frustrated. Thanks to everyone that has posted tips and help.

Well it works now but I have to crank my amp to get volume from it.  It sounds amazing when I can hear it. A little "buzzy" and "crackly" when I am adjusting the pots but it is not fully enclosed in the box at the moment and wires are being wriggled as I adjust the effect levels so maybe that is the issue there. Any suggestions on the low volume when effect is engaged?. Jumps way up when I turn off the effect. Happy it works (sort of) and have to say it is one awesome sounding delay.

Thank you morgan, I am firing up my DMM and will see if I can find a mix up, solder bridge or something. I have this feeling it is something obvious I am missing like a wire connected backwards.

If I figure out my issue I will post it and maybe it will help out yours.

Did you figure this out?. Oddly I am having the same issue. But regulator is not hot to touch. I did have feedback the first time I turned it on but we-worked a few solder points and that stopped but then no sound at all. Was thinking I fried something.

Cool thanks Jacob, is that the same for the little toggle switch (dry/kill switch at the top of the enclosure drill template for the moodring?

Open Discussion / Adding a dry/kill switch to Moodring

Almost finished the moodring board and looking ahead I realized I am unsure of how to wire up the kill/dry switch. Still fresh on building pedals so any advice would be greatly appreciated : )
Thanks

Thanks for the fast reply man. I appreciate the help and the offer. I have to order an enclosure for the moodring build  so I will add a few of the correct regulators to my mouserr order for the delay build. Guess I need to be patient lol. I am so close to finishing this one too.

Open Discussion / Substitute for Lm78L05?
October 12, 2014, 05:59:36 PM
My local shop did not have the LM78L05 (well they did but it was labelled lm78L15A?) so I bought a LM78L06 regulator. Will this be ok to substitute the LM78L05 with in the zero point micro II?.
Thanks

General Questions / Re: Zeropoint Micro II sister board

Ran into a little setback on this build. Is it ok to substitute the LM78L05 regulator for an LM78L06? My local shop had these in stock but the Lm78L05 were listed as Lm78L15A. Will there be much of a difference between the two?. Or will it cause potential headaches down the road.
Thanks

General Questions / Re: Zeropoint Micro II sister board

Thanks for the speedy replies guys. I was planning on using the sister board as well but cut it into 3 individual pieces, 1 for each pot and then wire those to the allotted spots on the main board. I have an enclosure already drilled for 3 pots and the holes area little wider apart than the spots for the pots on the sister board but it would be easier with your suggestions and just wire it direct to the main board and keep the sister board for another project. Wicked : )
Thanks again.
ps: I like the tag of Diode Destroyer below my login name..where did that come from?, has a death metal feel to it : )

General Questions / Zeropoint Micro II sister board
September 26, 2014, 03:20:56 PM
I am building the zero point micro II and decided on a larger enclosure (1590b since I had one already). With a little more space I was wondering if separating each pot from the sister board and mounting them individually would be ok?. I don't see any copper connecting them.  I just want to use the extra space in the box to my advantage and for a less compact look to the finished knob placement. Any tips would be great, I am brand new to the forum here.
Thanks
