Build Reports / Re: Tweak Tone Delay
August 08, 2012, 01:28:58 AM
So, is that a one-off prototype board then?  If so, what service do you use?

Been meaning to try DorkBot, but haven't gotten to it yet.

Thanks,
George

This is a work in progress, but it might help.  I'm planning to use it for mine, but I'm not at that stage yet.

Requests / Re: Lo-Fi/Bandpass pedal?

SoundCloud changed the sound of the file a bit.  This might be a little more true to the sound:

and yes there is a volume drop as the controls are maxed.  I haven't experimented with how to get the level back, but I think it's just a mater of replacing R16 with a pot.

Any feedback on the R16 is appreciated too, BTW.

Not much of a demo, but it should give you an idea.

The sound is a little hissy and crappy by design.  I built it with lofi 1458 op-amps and ceramic caps for everything.  It is lofi after all.

You guys have inspired me to finish this build.  I moved the populated boards to the front of the desk.

This sounds interesting, have you seen/heard clips of this anywhere?

Yes, built it, but never boxed it.  I thought the filter part was great.  With the Hammer mods it is possible to get a nice AM radio sound.  Much different than the LoFoMoFo.  I think it might actually be pretty close to the LF7.

The thing I didn't like was the panner part and the way it worked.  I thought a constant signal for the guitar with the option to mix in the noise as desired would be better.

I changed the design and made a board but never finished it.  I've been looking at it on my desk for weeks, but just haven't found the time.

The telephone noise pedal by R.G. Keen sounds like it may be what you are after.

There are some posts on DIYSB about it too.  Mark Hammer made some suggestions to make it more flexible by adding dual gang pots to the filters.  You could easily build it without the noise part too.

Be aware that there is an error in the schematic.  The center lug of the wiper has to go to VB, not GND as shown.

Their relationship is gonna need a lot of work if its going to last :-\

No amount of work will help that one.  She'll get tired of that and take a walk.

Most refrigerators run around 35 degrees Fahrenheit. But this one goes down to 11.

Nice.   ;D

I've built a Phase 90 with J201's and it sounds fine.  They were a recamended "upgrade."

Brian,

Don't apologize.    You have a lot on your plate.   I just hope you're making a few bucks doing all of this.    You deserve it.

Cheers,
George

I'm guessing these really are out of stock then.

Open Discussion / Re: Amp mods - Fender Blues Jr.

I did mine with all the Bill M kits.  I put way more into the amp than I should have, but it sounds good.  No regrets, just spent too much money.

I was new to it then and I don't think I knew about Mouser or Smallbear at the time, but all of the parts would be available from either one.  It's more a matter of figuring out what part to change and then what to replace it with.

Global Annoucements / Road Rage - Out of Stock?

I didn't see anything here about the Road Rage boards being out of stock, so I thought I would ask to be sure.  So are they really out or is my computer messing with me?
