each inductor has its own favorite value anywhere from 3 uf to 12 uf, you have to find the one that opens up the harmonics of each inductor. that is why many wah modders miss the boat, they aren't getting the inductor tuned.

Thanks for sharing, joe! Is there some math involved in the above quote or just playing with values until you find "the one?"

Everything is just a generic place-holder page...

Did they lose their domain name?

All your hard work paid off. She's a beauty!

Very cool. Where does the booster take place?

Shot in the dark: have you adjusted the trimpot at all? If not, set it around 50%. If I recall, full CW & full CCW will 'kill' the effected signal.

Hey, Brian. The new wiring diagram is great. Maybe link to it from the projects page? Or link to this forum post. Just a thought!

IMO, both the fatpants and thunderpuss are fantastic boosts w/ some top end sparkle. I found the FP to have slightly more sparkle and the TP to have more volume on tap. This is completely subjective but the the FP's sparkle struck me as being warmer.

I've only built the original, one-knob FP as I'm anxiously waiting Brian's 100% original mod to the new 2-knob FP (as mentioned here).

I once read the original echoplex preamp added some kind of super-slight phasing to its boost...

I just re-read this and have no idea if it helps! Good thing they're both inexpensive boards!

Soldering looks fantastic! I remember my first BYOC had burn marks all over it...

Can I run the Thunderpuss on 18V? Are there benefits to be had?

Absolutely. I did not notice any major difference but I mainly ran it 18v so...

I second the AMZ mosfet (aka 'bean's Thunderpuss)

Don't know if it's the perfect metal booster but it's clean with a smidgen of top end sparkle and gets f'ing LOUD!

Just built a mysterioso jr on vero from a FSB layout (based on 'beans schem).

HOLY SHITE! This is an fantastic pedal. It makes my clean channel sound almost exactly like the crunch channel (albeit slightly compressed). No fizz at all.

I'm REALLY looking forward to the fabbed board!

Yeah, awesome when it's that easy to fix, but you feel a little silly when you realize how simple.

Totally. I've built several dozen pedals and this is the first time I mis-reisitor'd a part.

Humbling...

I'm reminded of building my BYOC Mouse (awesome pedal, BTW). I populated the board and wired it up in one session and...

nothing. This was before I "rocked before box'd." I tore the whole damn thing apart until I realized I forgot to pop the IC into the socket...........

Where's the forehead-smacking emoticon?!?!?!?
