The material is LaserMax by a company named Rowmark.  They have many different colors with various colors under which engrave when the top is engraved away.

Thanks!

Looks great! What material is that that etches to white for the labelling? I have access to some laser cutters and want to experiment - both for pedals and for amps (I just built my first amp recently....).

Trying to get the kids to go to bed so I can finish my Zenith Pro build!

I just unplug it. Though most of my boards live in their cases when not at rehearsals/gigs. I typically unpack them at home only if I'm changing something up or doing some heavy programming.

Open Discussion / Re: Tremolo/Reverb Combo?

Currently working on a combined Twin Peaks and Surfy Bear spring reverb. I generally prefer the reverb first (like putting a Fender tube reverb into an amp with trem) but will likely include a 4pdt 'order flipper' switch. Reverb plus brownface trem sounds huge - hard to believe it's a mono signal, it sounds so 3d.

Here's a shot of my gigging board. I put this together before I started building pedals, so the only diy is the I/O boxes and some switching boxes (and all the cabling).

I've put an external LDR on a resonant filter (the BYOC fixed and envelope filter, one of my very first builds) and have controlled it with external LED with LFO. I have a board producing tap tempo LFO (including S&H) that I'm thinking of using to control an envelop filter - just haven't got to it yet...

I'm planning to put a Blackbird and the Plexi in one enclosure, with an A/B (i.e., rather than A+B ), for use with my Matchless HC30. It's really incredible how these circuits so effectively and convincingly change the basic tone of the amp...

FYI I just got 50 J201s from small bear and here's how they tested (sorted in 1/4 volt groups, per the test circuit in the BlackBird build doc).

Hey all,

I have this Egghead build that turned pretty sweet (except for my sub-par etch job). I fit the thing into a 1590A using 9mm pots that I managed to fit beside eachother mounted on the PCB. The question is, are there knobs small enough to fit gracefully on this little dude?

How much room is there between the shafts?

Has anyone tried these?  http://www.dipmicro.com/img/1/RV3386-103.jpg
I haven't tried them, but they look suspiciously similar to the trimmers at Tayda. The Tayda trimmers are named Baoter and unless Bao means resistor in Mandarin...

Thanks. Pretty sure 'bao' means 'bun' in Chinese. I will refer to them as 'bun trimmers' from now on!

I've yet to find something that breaks up like the Plexi Drive or other similar clipping circuits (unless the device has tubes :-)  ...) . I just received a bag of J201s and will commence sorting shortly ...

Reverb, and put the reverb first! I just finished the Twin Peaks pcb yesterday and immediately tried it with the spring reverb unit I built - sublime. The brownface is soon good on the Twin Peaks the other settings on the rotary switch are already jealous.

How about you use momentary on both, and add a toggle to swap which one controls relay bypass and which controls tap tempo? Best of both worlds...
