Q1: Those are the clipping diodes and can be swapped for just about any diodes LED's, 1n914's,1n270 unobtanium, unicorn tears... etc. Or left empty if you're doing the clipping switch.

Q2: shouldn't make too much of a difference if any.

That is pretty awesome!! Would definitely fun to play around with.
But I can't get past his blacked out "Where's Waldo" outfit. It's like he's Home Invasion Waldo. Lol.

I just saw this last night so it should just be a matter of finding the correct wah pot.

Looks killer man. I've got one half populated just waiting for the funds (and a tayda coupon) to order some more parts to finish it up.

I kinda like that mic, even if it is a bit "Pittsburgh Steelers"

The monitors are hideous.

I wonder if they offer a steel curtain reflection filter to go with the Mic. Lol.

Agreed the monitors look aweful.

Happy New Year Guys! Going to be a quiet night here as well. Watching the Rangers game with a few beers and too much food! Going to try and avoid a hang over so I can enjoy the Winter Classic tomorrow. Maybe check the thickness on the pond and get a much needed skate in as well.

Here's to an awesome 2015!

Richard...

Very glad to hear that everyone was OK. There have been about 6 woodstove fires around me as of late. Most were contained quickly however, 1 of them resulted in fatalities. Give the family extra hugs and kisses   ;)

On a lighter note....

I don't think it was an accident! That Santa looks awfully guilty! After all... he shouldn't still be there! He should be at the North Pole preparing for next year....  8)

Thanks Greg!
Yeah it's one of those things I hadn't really thought about. After the fact my dad says he had been thinking about cleaning it but failed to mention it anybody. Smh. But we have the brush and more than enough rod to get it clean so it shouldn't be an issue from now on.

You know I thought that Santa looked suspicious to me too. I mean he is standing on a melted treadmill yet he has incurred no damage and his beard isn't even sooty!
Apparently we were on the naughty list and he decided to leave the coal not in our stockings but lodged in our chimney! Lol

Glad you're all safe!

PSA. Have smoke detectors on every level and in the bedrooms?
dave

Up here it's also a law to have CO2 detectors on each level, they will detect before the usual smoke detectors.

Thanks Rej! Yeah I think it is law here for new houses to have them but this place was built in the early 70's. And to put in perspective my grand father didn't get sheetrock on the few remaining bare walls until the early 2000's and they only stayed here in the summer when there is no need for a fire so smoke detectors were probably the furthest thing from his mind. Lol.

Yeah that's another good psa! Honestly I didn't even know that there weren't. Like I said it belongs to my aunt and she is a stickler for safety so I kind of assumed there were. But you know what they say about that.;)

December 30, 2014, 05:07:50 AM
I have an X3 and it sounds good for scratch tracks or ideas by itself but in a mix it gets lost pretty easy without some serious tweaking. I took it to jam with a couple of buddies and brought my other pedals as well and I plugged into the pod and one of my friends plugged into my normal pedal chain and it was no contest pedalboard was miles ahead in cut and clarity. My favorite amp model for distortion on it is the engl pball definitely sounds the biggest add a second amp model with some high end cut and you would probably have a pretty killer tone.

Good to hear you and your nearest are all good!

Also glad to hear the house entire did not burn out!

Thanks Alan! I'm pretty glad too.
It's amazing how one place can hold so many good memories and some as terrible as this.
It is the house in which I used to spend summers with my grandparents. My grandfather was an electrical engineer and was one of my biggest role models growing up. After my grandfather passed away in 2011 my aunt took it over and we are only spending the winter here after selling our house this summer.
It's a good thing it happened while we were here though because my aunt takes care of my cousin's two very young children.

I'm so glad you and your family are safe, Richard.

Thanks Lee! Despite losing what we did in a way I feel like the luckiest man on earth for that reason!

Yeah man no joke at all. I am just glad I was up and awake because had I been in my room I probably wouldn't have caught it until it was too late.
Unfortunately the woodstove is our only heat source and it is supposed to drop into the teens tonight so I spent today cleaning the chimney out and the code enforcement Guy came out and said it looked good to fire it back up. No holes in the pipe and said the inside looked good after I cleaned it. But I am still a bit paranoid about having it running. Probably going to sleep in the living room tonight just to be on the safe side.
On the bright side it looks like insurance is going to cover serve pro or another cleaning service to come get rid of the smell and debris which is a huge weight off my shoulders.( both literally and figuratively) now to find out whether they will take care of the stuff the fire department threw out of the window into the back yard.

They said it ran up that beam and was smoldering and it didn't burst into flames until they broke the back widows out which is a miracle if you ask me. But the heat caused mattresses to melt and smolder and pretty much everything plastic melted to some degree. It also caused the windows in the front of the peak to burst. We lost alot of antique stuff passed down from my grandparents. There is one beautiful dresser that was my grandfather's that is still up there but I am afraid to look at it. Thank you guys for the kind words!

Richard
