anyone know for sure if I will get phase issues with the Rub-a-Dub reverb?

Seems it uses a Dual op amp and the signal goes into the "-" side rather than the "+"

The distortion pedals I am considering seem to use the "+" side....

Im a strong noob when it comes to phase cancellation queries...

Me too, I'm terrible with that sort of thing. I design with my ears, and I'm not very good even then. The way I would find out is actually trying it, which isn't super helpful, so perhaps someone else has the answer.

Hi

Yes in order to have the claen blend "other fuzz" has to be off but thats apparently fine.

I dont want to have to get extra complex really, the whole point is to have two parallel distortions.

The Paralyzer PCB should sum everything back to one output.
I think you guys are saying the same thing, just showing it a little differently. "Blend circuits" usually consist of two parts, a buffered splitter, and a buffered mixer.

If it's clear to your customer that it's clean OR fuzz and there is no option for clean AND fuzz, then you are good.

The only other thing that I would consider pointing out is the potential effect that the buffer would have on the fuzz

Yep, this is the thing.

I've gotten good feedback in general, but the one thing I often hear from people on the circuit (which isn't my design by the way, it's RG Keens - I just made it a PCB with a couple small adjustments) is that it doesn't play well with two circuits that phase cancel. I chose to make it the way it is without adding a switch. At the time, I ran as many circuits as I could in parallel, dozens at least, and I couldn't come up with any that actually had problems. A few combos have come up over the years (6 or so) I've been selling the PCB.

All that said, yes, this is what it's designed for. It should work as you want it to.

Update: got the pedal back and everything works fine! I am beyond angry now. This guy is officially fired! I am refunding his money, less the 2 unnecessary shipping costs and $50 for my pain and suffering.

....was this fellow aware that pedals require a power supply? I used to do IT work occasionally, and sometimes you really do need to start at the bottom of the barrel with the questions to ask.

"Hello, Have you tried turning it off and on again?"

I just read the article. Sad day.

My fav will always be the first album. Track list reads like a best of album.

I have had a client that has done nearly the same thing. I kept taking it back after he told me it didn't work. After the 3rd time I 'repaired' it for him, he was asking for a refund. At this point I've lost money on the shipping. You guys know that the margin on most custom jobs is small anyway, but between my time and the actual funds out the door, I'm down $100 by that moment, and I asked him to consider that it's a problem on his end, and not on mine. I wasn't willing to take it back, and each time had sent it to me it had worked fine for me. I tried to no avail to get the symptoms to show themselves, but nothing.

Man that was frustrating. Among the last custom pedals I ever did.

Maybe I'm boring, but if I had to choose one pedal brand, I'd probably pick Boss. They have some of my favs over the years. That or Strymon, although I've only used Strymon Delays and Reverbs, I'm still fairly certain I would be happy with their gear.

EHX has some good ones, but I haven't really looked at many of their products as 'I want that' type pedals.

My recommendation is two fold:

- get an electric piano that you can plug headphones into
- Get something with weighted keys that is oriented to a piano type experience, not a keyboard meant for fun sounds/synth stuff

I have used a a Presonus 44VSL for a good number of years. it's great, and pretty easy to use.

At the risk of perhaps stepping over the political boundaries that separate my Canadian experience with (the majority here) the US experience, I wonder sometimes at the origin of the US as a country. A major portion of the attitude of what the US is founded upon is rebellion. The very nature of the US culture is based around the idea of independence as the highest ideal, about the rejection of even appropriate authority at times, and the very origin of the nation was in rebellion against authority. The fact that the Confederate group in the Civil War were called 'rebels' and that the Rebel title is one that many bear proudly certainly bears out in terms of the current reaction amongst some.

I guess I'm not calling it negative, because appropriate rebellion has led to good things. However, I think it's an interesting observation that what's so highly prized at times can also be an achilles heal at other times.

Here in Saskatchewan, we just saw our record number today. We have slowly been opening, and we just saw a nearly %5 jump in total cases in a single day. Not good, but overall we are still at less than 1000 cases for our 1.1 million population.

I've done a number of Partscaster Tele's and Strats. It's the only thing I'd do these days, as it has yielded better instruments at a lower price that are to my specific choices and configurations.

Best parts I've gotten have all come from Warmoth. You can get them elsewhere, with varying results, but I've been super happy with the parts I've gotten that originate with them.

Update in the bean household: my wife has been sent back to WFH for the next two weeks at minimum. They gave the option to employees to do this or stay in the office. Not sure what this means for the company's future. Also, some counties in Tenn. have decided to start the school year as online but they haven't made a decision in Sumner county yet.

So, everyone is back at home again for now. In unrelated news, I am available for adoption to a good home. Require minimal feeding and watering and only occasional bathroom breaks.

Well my daughter's house sitting for a number of months so we have a spare bedroom but... border's still closed and doesn't appear many up here are in any hurry for that to change, we got us a wall.
dave

Where I live, the economy is taking a huge hit because of the closed border. I'm glad the border is closed, but the tourism here is largely based around American's coming up here to head out to the fly in fishing and hunting camps. They're all shut down, because there is nobody coming in to use them.

All I know is that the fish are gonna be in plentiful supply next year and they'll be bigger than average.

Also of note, I regularly catch 2-3 foot Northern Pike (we call them Jackfish) on an average day of fishing. Walleye here can be 1.5-2 foot pretty easy.
