The pedal is misleading as it it NOT a dual 'channel' pedal--like the king of tone/aristocrat. Rather it's a single pedal that can switch between 2 settings. The jr. version just has the one setting and the madbean version boost is (I believe) a trimpot on the actual blackstone pedal.

Anxiously awaiting the fabb'd version!

Just 'cause I want to try embedding a youtube video...  ;)
Also, quick cameo by Belew.

the stinkwhistle?

I was going to vote for TRAMP STAMP but along came STINKWHISTLE. Brilliant.

That is a great show. Suicide Chump and Black Napkins. 'nuff said.

I try to catch ZPZ whenever they come to the pacific northwest. I've enjoyed the hell out of each show but have noticed two things: the stage-humor I hear on old zappa boots is missing and they sometimes almost look bored they're so well rehearsed.

I was stunned when they played 'G-Spot Tornado' and NAILED it. 'Billy the Mountain' was pretty incredible, too.

BOOM!

Something tells me you're as addicted to designing these beasts as we are of building them...

'nother vote for YES!

I was just looking at the image of the new fabb'd slap chop (karate shop) and do I see a 'years active' date underneath the quad opamp location?

If you live near a radio shack, they should have 5088/5089's. They'd have replacement diodes, too, if needed.
#56
Do you have any 5088/5089's to try? You can use them to eliminate the pinout confusion of the other transistors and see if the problem lies there or elsewhere. Also, try just one 1K resistor in place of the trimpot as I'm pretty sure I remember setting the trimmer full on and full off = no sound. Subbing two 1K resistors is the same as a 2K trimpot full on.

One more shot in the dark: is the IC orientated correctly?

85% 1978 Zappa and 15% 1988 Zappa

I knew I liked you, Brian! There's an old boot from NJ, Oct. '78 that makes me mess my pants every time I hear it. Was that an over-share?

Yep!

Try backing off the presence trimpots, too. Once I dialed them back I started to get what the pedal was about.

I'm currently in love with a vero Mysterioso Jr. (based off Brian's schematic). Been waiting for the fabbed version of the board since October '10!

The SlapChop & Fatpants are also both nice.
