Ahhh... glad that I can use that huge TO-220.  The price is cheap, so I ordered enough to make about 10 RRs :)

BTW....is this the TO-92 version?

Thanks DutchMF, now I'll order the 1054.

I think you mean PNP instead of NPN? And I don't think it will work anyway because the IC won't put out enough current (mA) to supply 5 pedals. Even when using an LT1054 you might get away with powering 2 or maybe 3 pedals, but 5 will be a bit much.

Paul

Yes...my bad.  I mean PNP pedals.  I can accept powering two or three PNP pedals, but using the LT1054 instead of the max1044?  The max1044 can only power one pnp pedal at a time?

I have about 5 NPN pedals, fuzz face, tonebender, rangemaster...etc and need to power them with -9v.  Can I build a standalone road rage and power all my npn pedals with a daisy chain power cable like the spot one?  Is it possible, instead of installing a road rage in each npn pedal?

According to page 4 of the Bom,if you are using it as a charge pump for 18v,you don't need ic2 anyway.that should help alleviate the troubles of finding it.

I need it for 12-15v usage.

Ordering parts for the road rage charge pump and need to verify if this 15v voltage regulator is the correct one from tadya.

The BOM calls for 7815T, but the one at tadya is L7815CV.  Is this basically the same?

what is the shipping time to the states from tayda ?

For the cheapest, it would take about two weeks to the west coast.  For the cheapest express, it would take about a week to the west coast.

Somewhere between 25 - 50 $  depending on wich parts you use ; especially jacks , footswitch and knobs .

Yes, it depends on where you get your parts.  I like Taydaelectronics, great prices and their shipping charges are so cheap.

I think I used a C for the echo base, which is similar. If you have both, socket and see which you like better. If you're ordering, get both and socket and see which you like better.

Jacob

Yea, that sounds more logical.  I'll socket and order both....   Hmm..you used BC550 for the echo base, but dosen't it call for BC560?  BC550 and BC560 are the same?

The bill of material only states BC550 for Q1 and Q2.  There are two types, BC550B (low noise, medium gain), and BC550C (low noise, high gain).  Which one would be ideal for this PT2399 based delay?

Thanks....  My next projects will be two Cave Dweller II Dub Edition.  I just got two PCBS and ordering the components.

These are my recent pedal builds.  (L-R)  Madbean Cave Dweller Delay, dark and very hunting ambient delay, not your typical PT2399 Delay tone, but thats what makes this delay unique and different., General Guitar Gadgets Guv'nor, sounds close to the actual Marshall Guv'nor, but with an added clipping bonus, you can choose between the stock LED clipping tone, which is very open, punchy and tubby sounding or three diode asymmetric clipping, which sounds a little more compressed, bitty and nastier.  The last but not least, the General Guitar Gadget (PRO CO) Rat, cloned after the 85' white face rat.  I used LM308 chips just like the vintage 85' pro co rat.  Sounds like the rat indeed.

Thanks!

Just built two Cave Dwellers and just floored by its ambient delay effect, certainly does not sound anything like many other PT2399 based delays out there, but I want to build its bigger brother, the Cave Dweller II Dub edition.  I've searched and cannot find a pcb or even a vero layout of it.  I would etch my own, but I would rather go that route as the last resort.

Thanks!  I guess I didn't read the entire forum before I posted. ;) ;) ;)
