I believe the regular pots will be fine. If thats the same type of rotary as the multiplex uses, its only a bit taller than the regular length pcb pots. I've never actually used the long pins so I can't comment for sure, but I remember other users here saying that they are really damn long.

General Questions / Re: Sockets...

Interesting, I get all my sockets from Tayda, and haven't noticed any issues with them. Perhaps its because I don't resocket things constantly, I just use them to avoid heating the components.

I personally prefer the machine tooled. I feel like they hold the chip in better, and on a really minor note, look a lot better. I remember someone saying the dual leaf type isn't as reliable, but I don't remember who.

Knock down the to-do list.
- Liquid mercury and giant hogweed for Dan. He sent me his enclosures months ago, I just haven't had a chance to work on them much.
- Those same builds for myself. But I'd rather get his done and sent back to him before I do my own.
- L5; I've been drooling over this since it was announced. I need to order a few parts from Mouser before I can begin.
- A few smaller circuits I haven't had the chance to start yet (slow gear, KoT, OCD, S&H, Flangelicious, DigiDelay when its released, et al.)
- Build a small amp. Right now I'm thinking either the Tiny Giant or the Frog tube amp. This will be the perfect complement to the L5, and allow me to run a stereo setup.

I thought there was more than one bundle also.

Didn't we all? Wishful thinking I guess. It is a damn good value. If you do want it then absolutely no worries. I have a ton on my to-do list as is, I don't really need to add any more to my list. I was just doing my part to help a fellow pedal builder.

Wow, thats ridiculously generous of you!

Damn you, Jimilee! First the PIF you beat me to, now this! Well, I'll be more than happy to take the digdug/laserwolf combo if he doesn't want it/isn't sure. I've been eyeing both of those circuits for quite a while now.

Best of luck trying to get top mounted jacks in this, feline. As much as I love (ok, am obsessed with) top mounted jacks, I figured trying to make it would would be a total pain, in an already complicated circuit. I'd like to know if you can pull it off, without resorting to an enclosure thats ridiculously tall. That would give me hope of at least managing to fit top mounted jacks in electric druids slightly less complicated circuits.

damn that looks good. I like the color-matching power jack. I usually use the smaller thinline jacks which only come in 1 color, which is great if you like black. I finally used my first different colored one, red, on my L5 build (enclosure hole was too big for a thinline). I figured that should serve as a reminder that its AC power.

ah really, mammoth‽ I just placed an order with them yesterday, and I was struggling to come up with enough products to get to the $49 free shipping. I would have happily gotten a handful of them, especially because they're discounted. Oh well, at least I know where to find them from now on.

Discontinued? Where did you read that?

discounted, not discontinued. 20% off cause of black friday.

Mammoth has a bit off pots, knobs, etc.

I remember last year they had a great discount on enclosures, but I haven't heard anything yet. Unless that was a christmas sale?

How Do I? Beginner's Paradise. / Re: Stuffing a PCB

like playpunk said, when I place a component, I bend both leads so when I flip it over they don't fall out. I also try to put in all the components of the same height so when I flip it over on the table they rest flat with the PCB level on top. I'll flux and clip one lead of each component and solder it on, which allows me to do the same with the other leads without worrying about things moving around.

I haven't bought anything, but I've sold a few things with great success. I wouldn't hesitate to buy there, unless the seller or post looks really sketchy

Cool. Where's the pcb from

A forum member here, Drolo. He did a group buy around February. Also, another member delyk has a different layout (single board, no sandwich) on his shop.
