I'm extremely carefull now this problem.
Thanks for the advice but it seems that I cannot import Testors cans to my country (I'm french).
I've been pleased by other hobby brands like Tamiya or Humbrol.
For information the clear how used to give me problem is Montana Hardcore Mat clear can (a graph brand)

Well, mat clear is just that.  Flat looking.  Try looking for one that says crystal, high gloss or wet look.  Never heard of those two brands but hopefully they have something high gloss for you.

Paint problems like that are caused by intermixing different types of paint i.e. enamel/lacquer/acrylics. General rule of thumb unless you know exactly what your doing is to not mix the types and even the brands as the resins used to make each one vary and you can wind up with some strange reactions.

Also, laying the paint down in several light coats and giving them time to cure before the next coat is key.

For off the shelf, ready to spray clear that's got the best and brightest looking clear coat is the testors lacquer wet coat clear.

Perhaps it's time to just make a Serendipity forum!

Love the creamy yellow and white knobs.

It does seem extremely popular on the forum doesn't it?  ;D

The top one is (obviously) a really loud house of kolor yellow kandy finish while the bottom one is a HOK chrome yellow over solar gold with some dry metallic flake added in.

Holy crap, these are AWESOME!

I love the Power Up one and the red distressed. Actually, I like all of them!

The red distressed one is based off the old school 'Rat Rod' idea of flat finishes that look like hell on the edges.  I'm taking it a bit farther with this one.  Still working on it a bit but it's getting close.

Thanks again for helping us make this project work.

Build Reports / yet another Serendipity build x2

I saw all the Serendipity builds so I figured I would post two that I've done.

No gut shots unfortunately.  Deleted those pics during a clean out.

One of my favorite projects from Brian.  I need to do another one.  :)

I figured I would give a BIG thank you to Brian and show off some of the completed projects he helped make happen over on the MLP Forum.

For those who haven't built this circuit or are on the fence, I'd say jump all over it.  It's an awesome booster and very transparent.

no led yet. :)

and a yet uncompleted pedal....this one is meant to look like hell on purpose.  :)

Some of these were sent off to the owners to build themselves so thats why they are 'hollow'.

I've also had trouble with clear coat sticking to high gloss metal finishes.

yours turned out great in the end though.

If you take a scotch pad to the enclosure first, then clean/degrease it, the clear will have something to stick too.  Don't worry, the clear coat will fill the scratches and leave a nice reflective finish.
