What stinks more? Waiting or troubleshooting?

I hate:

- Getting an order sent off and realizing that one part I forgot to order
- Being all excited about a new parts find and discovering the parts are crap. (Happened last week with some switches)
- Stopping to eat or pee in the middle of a build
- Being cranky because I waited too long to eat because I was in the middle of a build

Haha, I'm still new to building pedals so I haven't got to experience all the fun that comes with it yet. But I'm already the type that doesn't like to stop to eat or pee and get very cranky from not eating. I sure hope I don't get any crappy parts from my orders. But I'm expecting it since I've read some bad reviews about Tayda on here. This is my 2nd order from them. I'm also waiting on PCB's from Chromesphere and parts from PPP.

Waiting on the parts I ordered to come in.  :( I'm stuck and can not work on any projects till my orders come in. I'm like a kid waiting by the window watching for the post man.  :D

It's always the smallest things that cause the most problems. Keep us updated!

It looks like your electrolytic cap is backwards.

Thank you. I was going to buff it out to more of a mirror finish but after sanding on it with a fine sandpaper I liked how it turned out.

That's really nice. I like the color too. Looks almost rustic.

General Questions / Texas instruments rc4558p??
March 01, 2014, 06:11:54 PM
Are the Texas instruments rc4558p chips any count? I acquired a bunch of the chips in a parts lot I bought. I know the 4558 chips are used in the Tube Screamers but I'm not sure what I could use them for.

Thanks!! To be honest I'm a little OCD and I wasn't fully happy with the way the wiring turned out. I think I could have made it cleaner around the switch. I let it go since it was my first build.
I just need to figure out how to make pedals more appealing. I've been reading and trying to find what I will be able to do on a budget.
Thank you all again for all the encouragement.  ;D

Haha, When I got the case there was foam with cutouts to hold multiple calculators.

Nice, I did something similar with a Texas Instruments calculator case.

...how big is your calculator?!

I'm blind so I need a huge calculator!  :o

I KNOW I will end up building more pedals then I'll ever use. lol

Jason

Corrected it for you. :)

I look at my pile of pedals and think "What the heck!" Then head into the garage to build more. Why? Because I can and because I obviously think having any extra money in my bank account would be a horrible thing.

Oh... Great first build.

Thanks for the correction.  ;) Luckily for me. I have friends wanting builds also. So I will get to build pedals I won't have money in and will make a few bucks to put in other builds.  ;D

Very nice! My first build was a 1590a. It was a little tight but the challenge was fun. Quick question... What did you use for your decal? It doesn't look like waterslide. Is it on photopaper?
