Thanks for the info. Might bread board this when I get to it and try some of your suggestions. It does sound really dark.
Thanks.

Open Discussion / Re: Inside a stomp switch

What timing, I just spent hours tonight learning/repairing different things at my bench and took apart one of these too for the first time! Thanks for posting pics. Easy to understand the switch once you see the mechanism. I will be getting a "pro" version from Mammoth soon and will pop one open. If there is any difference I will post pics to this thread. Will do same for industrial ver too once I get one of those.

Here is an old thread where user "slimtriggers" posted useful switch info- middle row posts are always connected to one or other side of outside posts. http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=3738.msg33309#msg33309

Thanks.
Maybe you could help with these questions too-
1. C1 is "22n" - but all I see on Mammoth is uf rated caps- what is equiv?
http://www.mammothelectronics.com/Vikiin-Polyester-Film-Box-Capacitors-p/300b-mmk5.htm
2. R11 is listed as 33R, is that just a typo to mean 33k?
3. Caps voltages, can I use whatever as long as it is above 12v? Will using 100v be bad for example?
Thx again,
C

I am ordering parts for this build but how do you decide what types of caps to use? I see you used ceramic, elec, and that orange one for C1.
Thanks

Oh snap!
hah, jk.
I might just buy the standard cheap blue and the industrial and break them open and post pics of the guts. I have that type of personality since I was a kid to be curious about things and would take them apart. And usually that was the end of their working life.

Thanks guys.
I'd like to know if the guts are actually different or use better materials. I'd rather pay more for quality but am still not convinced. The wiring board is great though.
I just decided, I'm going to try one with the wiring board and see how it goes. I have a pedal now that sound is only present when switch is engaged to troubleshoot. Might not be the switch but I also have a Rub-A-Dub or 2 to build so I am just going to give them a try and report back.
Thanks,
