Build Reports / Tonebender

The madbeanpedals Tonebender, very nice, easy and fast build, inexpensive, and sounds great. The fuzz pot has a wide range from quite clean to fully fuzzy and cleans up nicely with guitar volume. Makes me think why bother with the germanium stuff, this is a great fuzz.

Open Discussion / Re: Frustrations with selling...

I sell some pedals, to get some money to buy parts, too. No problems with ebay so far but I see the dangers too. Also ebay takes good profit from you, so overall is not a great option I recon.
I think a sound clip is important, so you let know the customer how the thing sound, and potentially avoiding complaints. Anyway I don't sell vintage germanium based stuff, overdrives or big muff variants or that kind of stuff are more consistent unit to unit and will give less surprises.

Direct sell is much better option, for many reasons, but it can be difficult to get in contact with enough people... anybody tried bigcartel, by the way? It's free for up to 5 items, so I thought it could be an option if you are able to make people go to your shop...

Good: I can work on the 20+ PCBs I have waiting before getting new ones!!

Is there a name for this disease? I mean, when you can't stop building and loving every Big Muff variant that crosses your path?

This one's built around Rullywow's King Tut pcb, smooth build and I'm very happy how it turned out, love the color and the final look.

When I made a fast test of the build prior to boxing, I wasn't impressed, honestly, "I can still sell it or trade it or something", I thought. But then yesterday, when I made the final test, plugged to an amp... I could not stop riffing!! I think part of the secret is the huge output, that pushes the amp and makes it sing... The clipping and input options are good to tweak the perfect tone for each riff, and well, I have riff for a couple new songs now. Another keeper.

I took the pics with the phone, so sorry if they are a little low quality...

Now, apart from the obvious excitement about the EHX stuff, I'm happy to see such a list of projects, great news now that winter is coming...

I'm intrigued about the Hot Toddy, from the facebook preview looks like  reverb + trem, but 6 knobs? that must hide a lot of features! Also want to know more about the Freekout, and yes, the Pig Butt is very welcome also.
