GuitarPCB colorsound overdrive... Blessing in disguise though. The failure lead to the discovery of veroboards for me ;D

Open Discussion / Re: Fake mn3008

Haha yeah! Buyer beware. They haven't got back to me yet so I suppose eBay will have to step in. I suspect that's how they get people though--Is it worth it to go through the trouble for 12 bucks? Lesson learned. If I ever take a chance again I'll make sure I have something verified I can drop it into.

General Questions / Re: Current Lover - Biasing questions

If you're still having trouble biasing, changing the 82k resistor to a 47k really helped my build.

Any chance these are real and just re-labelled poorly? Thought I'd take a chance for $12.50 and it appears I was burned. Already initiated a dispute with eBay as "item not as pictured." They used stock photos of chips with real logos.  Unfortunately the ad3208(generalguitargadgets) and aquapuss builds I have are setup for xx32XX chips so I can't test them without doing some mods.

Checked out a earlier post in the forum and swapped in 47k resistor at R12 in place of the 82k... Did the trick. The high pitched whistle is gone! The substitution seemed to give a little more "play" in the bias trimmer. Note: I also put the proper capacitor in at C7.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Current Lover-clock noise?
February 17, 2015, 05:03:12 PM
I'm trying to deal with some faint but annoying high pitched clock noise. Seems to be an issue that comes up a bit with the more complex builds. I'm using the v3207 chip. I subbed a 560pF capacitor in place of the 680pF on the output of the chip just because I didn't on hand. Other than that I'm getting about 8.2 volts on pin 4 of the delay chip when the doc says it should be about 7.6v. I'm using a boss psu (9.6V) Would that account for the higher voltage or should that not matter?
One other question regarding the correction on the board at D4. Should it's lead be soldered just at C6/D5 junction or where the anode lead goes through the board as well. Right now I just have it terminated at C6/D5.
Thanks in advance to anyone who's got any hints.

One more question about mixing and matching. I've got a single mn3005 from years ago. Can it be used in a circuit with a mn3008 to yield a 400-450ms delay time? Say in the aquaboy for example? Or would it require modding the circuit to accept two different chips? I built an ad3208 about 10 years ago and I'm thinking about doing another BBD delay. Thanks for all the help.

^That document is what got me thinking about compatibility because it shows mn3102/v3102 for the v3205 but left out bl3102. I thought it might have to do with the number of steps, the bl3208 only having 2048 vs 4096 for the v3205 and mn3205. The chart shows mn3101 with the v3205. Shouldn't it be mn3102?

Thanks for clarifying  :)

Question:
Will a bl3102 work with 2 mn3205's? What about with 2 v3205's? I'm having difficulty tracking down mn3102's so what I'm getting at is: Is a clock just a clock? Thanks!
