Build Reports / deadringer
January 30, 2016, 12:24:42 AM
Well this may not be a build report since i bought the pedal from Shu maker, but i repainted with powder coat black and make a photoshop for a friend, this pedal its so good on bass, with no mods, so clear and so good, but on bass its almost lack of power without the boost on, but with the boost its like a beast

How Do I? Beginner's Paradise. / Re: Un-soldering

first with something sharp you can remove the soldermask and solder direct to the pcb, or find the near pad in the same route to solder there.

what i do for cables its using a stand to hold the pcb then with one hand and some pliers softly pull the wire while im heating the solder, the a solder sucker will clean the pad for you

General Questions / Re: Good preamp for bass

i think that the Rc booster for bass itrs really cool just build one from the Quasar and its really clean and good for bass(with the mods for bass on the build doc)

space invaders, that must be

really nice jejeje i use the same as Billy, but for the flux i use my very own flux, violin rosin and thinner its the best you can find if you are using rosin core solder

I didn't find it to roll off any eq, I use a five strong as well, although I found a 4 string and a hip shot to be as useful and lighter. There really isn't much you can do to compress the low b string though.

so that may be the one right, yes theere are nothing to do with that sting but, if you find it nice then must be good, i realy dont know bout compressor, i tried one once and with distortions it ws way too tight

Nope, used an engineers thumb, I'd say that's got a great sound. Used an afterlife, used a rotten comp, a byoc opti comp. I planned on building the analog man comp. Orange squeezer in to a Rossi believe. Used a 4 knob Ross comp that pickdropper sells

i have the board for the pickdropperss one, how to found it??, does it roll off any freq??

Never used a keely, orange squeezer really depends on your style / application. I've built many but I really like the ehx soul preacher. I've not found a clone of it yet,. Bear hug is nice. As a bass player, I find too many knobs tedious when it comes to live applications.

have you ever tried a ross no mods just a two knob bare ross??

Im looking for a friend a compressor for jazz bass 5 i have read that the c4 comp its ok with normal bass with for a 5 string bass it rolls off some freqs and its not good, but have anyone tried it?? Also i hace seen that analog man have one that may be an orange squezer moded for bass any bass player can tell me better?? I never have use a compressor so i dont undertand them at all so im not so sure where to look but some how the keelley ones are a bit famous over the net

i have a sch from a pedal im ineterested, but i have a control switch that i would like to take away in order to simplify and make it true bypass,

i know those schmitt trigger and the MC14016B must be ignored, but im getting hard time to figure out, where the signal path its and where do i have to reconnect all

any idea where do i have to look first??

I stumbled across this after reading your last post:

http://www.muzique.com/lab/pickups.htm

I am guessing this is what you meant?  If so...could I just put this on some veroboard, wire the input from the switch into it, and wire the output from the transformer directly to the in of the circuitboard?

yes thats how it should be i have done that with a tone bender and its a magical trick
#29
What about using a transformer??? Some small 1:1 transformer on the input will handle the high impedance deal

Billy you are killing us with those amazing smd pedals, so good the pcb and the enclosure are art work
