Ir creates a voltage divider with the Bias pot, so the resulting voltage for the Vgg connection is about 1v (which is correct for 15v operation).

It's a weird value that I haven't seen on the previous itinerations. What's that all about and can I get by with a close sub 1.3 1.5?

Did the seller list them specifically as sorted and tested, or as a bulk lot? Its rare to buy a lot of Ge transistors that large and have them pretested. Any ACXXX lots sold these days are likely culls and any buyer should already be aware that they are buying leftovers.

That is the standard and I would assume that's it. I actually omitted the onboard led on my builds and left that pad empty but it would be super easy to test.
