Very nice!  What size resistors did you use?

Thanks! I ended up using 1/8 watt resistors like the BOM suggests, but I am pretty sure I could have fir the 1/4 watts in there if I would have covered the metal backplate with tape or something...

I forgot to say, I cant get the 5952 in Mexico  :-X
Ill go with the 5.6 zener, I think it`s that

Cool! Hopefully it works out then. If not hit me up and maybe I can send you a matched set of 5952's...

Lovely stuff.

That etch (I think it is an etch right?) is beautiful; very classy looking.

Thanks man, and yeah it is an etch.

I don't know to move in with some 2N5485 like in the example web page or stick with the MPF`s and get more... BTW putting the zener down o 4.7 doesn't sound as good as with the 5.1, Ill get a 5.6 to see if that`s the problem... and the trim pot only sounds good all the way down.

Hopefully a 5.6 will help fix the issue. I don;t know a whole lot about transistors, but mine sounds great with the 5.1 Zener and four 5952's with Vgs around 1.80, which was lower than I was actually hoping for when I went to match them. If the Zener doesn't help I would consider buying a bunch of 5952's and going with the highest mathed set. Good luck mang!

Nice, but tell me what trans did you use, I cant seem to get mine to work :(

I used 2n5952's (JFET's), which are standard for the phase 90. I had to breadboard a jfet matcher to make sure that Vgs was similar for all for transistors. Did you match yours? If you are not able to do this you should consider purchasing a bunch of 2n5952's and putting in sockets so you can switch them out til it works. Here is a link that might help...

Good luck and let me know if this helps.

Build Reports / Sixphaser - Tonepad Phase 90
November 21, 2012, 08:57:46 PM
Here is a Phase 90 I recently made for my dad using a Tonepad Pez 90 PCB.. He plays in a band called Sixfinger (named after a toy from the 50's/60's), so I used their band logo and called it the Sixphaser. I matched all the fet's in this thing and it sounds great. IMO it is much better than the current production Phase 90. It is much smoother and slightly more subtle, which I like (I'm probably more of a Phase 45 guy myself).

I just purchased a bunch of parts and I ordered two regulators but I'm sure if either of them will work for the road rage. Of course I found the exact one I was looking for the day after I ordered these two. Anyway, does anyone know if either of these will work???

Search "pulsar" on the forum. There a couple of threads with instruction and advise. Ian started the most resent one, you might try searching his most resents post.

Nice job! You definitely have a unique style all your own. I can't wait to finish my pork barrel. I'm checking the mail box twice a day waiting for parts. Maybe tomorrow...  :P
