Mine works great at 18 volts once I got rid of the zenner diode. Oh, and a bad mn3007 (not sure if it was already bad or the result of something in did).

It's a great sounding flanger
Excellent, thanks! Do you have any pics of your board?

I didn't get a chance to do much troubleshooting on this one last night, I was too busy having my mind blown by a just completed Moodring build.  What a great pedal.  If I can get this one to sound half as good as that one...

Here it is before I clipped the diode and shortened the legs of c22.

General Questions / Re: Buing cheap on Ebay-question

I ordered some ca3080's from a Chinese seller and 10 were either fake or just bad. I ordered some lm308's from a Chinese seller on Amazon and so far those have been good.

Personally I don't think I'd buy from eBay Seller from China ever again. Luckily I wasn't out too much money.

I'd much rather buy from known sources like Tayda, Small Bear, BLMS, Mouser, Parts Express, Newark, etc

It's usually solved with a pull down resistor. It's usually put right by the input to drain that charge. Not sure if the circuit already has one (R50 maybe?) or if it can be added. Someone that knows more than me is going to have to chime in. Sorry

Yep, it's building up a charge. Before you turn it on, stomp on the Footswitch a few times.

Sounds like it may be building up a charge. (Not sure if there is a pull down resister) Is it every time you engage the pedal or just when you first start playing with it?

It's definitely boned. Some of the pads have lifted. Too much heat and sucking, lol. You can send me another if you want. No big deal man. I can't wait to get that diode out so I can get this thing working, lol

Tech Help - Projects Page / Collosalus trouble
February 18, 2016, 09:58:04 PM
I've built two of the most recent Collisalus and I have the same exact issue with both. I'm building it per the 18 volt instructions. I think I ruined the first board soldering and resoldering. Anyway, both you would just hear a thumping sound and the voltage at the plug keeps fluctuating. Everything is new on this new build with the exception of pots and stomp switch. I've tried different plugs even though I've used known good pedals with the same plugs.

I'm thinking is has something to do with the power since its fluctuating. I asked on the last build and Madbean suggested changing out some caps, which I did, but it still just thumped. I did socket C22 and when I put in a 62pF cap the thumping is more noticeable the if I switch it for a 47pF (there is almost no sound at all with the 47pF).

I've got to ask what is D4, D6, C20, and C21 doing if you're not using the 9 Volt build? They seem kind of pointless, but I'm super new at this so I could be very very wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I did get the Harbinger One going the other day. Loving it

That's why I had to register again. I thought I just forgot my username or password, but thought it was weird that none of my email addresses would work to recover. Oh well, I hadn't contributed much yet. Still new at this. Sorry for the loss of the other data though. That sucks.

Looks like the ground wire on the upper right jack isn't hooked to the ground lug. Really only need a stereo jack if you're running a battery.

Yep, it definitely doesn't look like it's attached to the sleeve

Make sure your pots aren't shorting out on the board. Simple I know, but I had this problem. I put mine in the case and it tested out fine. I then tightened everything down and no sound when engaged(leds would light up when strummed). I even had pot condoms. I ended up putting some electrical tape on the board and on the pot legs(just in case they were not going in straight and touching).

Worked for me and was a very simple fix.

Oh, and like others have said an audio probe is priceless for troubleshooting

Edit: Nevermind, I just saw the pics. And my suggestion will not help you, lol. Sorry. However, I would probably reflow the solder on your wires on the board. They seem to have a lot and they kind of look dull from the pic. But I may be wrong
