VFE Projects / Re: VFE Projects FAQ
July 19, 2018, 02:10:59 AM
Just curious... I don't see the following in the project list above. What's the deal... those boards weren't made in larger batches like the others? You think they will eventually be made available? Or is it the kinda thing that once the boards he sent are gone then that's it?

Rocket EQ
Mini Mu
Woodchipper
Fuzz Duo
Yodeler
Ice Scream
Dragon Hound
RUP

I also wonder why you never hear guitar players talk about Tuck from Tuck&Patti. I saw them on BET in the 90's and I am still picking my jaw up off the floor.

No disrespect but I think it's pretty bad and that they should take the article down. I believe that misconceptions should be called out and corrected rather than purposely perpetuated. Take the classic example of Fender Tremolo/Vibrato.... It was perpetuated and explained away through the years like that's just how it is... If only someone would have spoken up...

Remember, it was just called "Standard", they didn't call them "MIM Standard"... Everybody else did becuase they had to differentiate it front the "American Standard", which is confusing... and drove home the fact that the they were not made in the USA".

I think the "Player" name is the right move and I do like the fact they adressed the pickups. I don't like that the offsets come with humbuckers at the bridge.

Full disclosure: My "other" guitar is a "Standard"

Try not to get murdered... I lived there for a little while in the 90's and I would always hear it was the murder capital of the US. The nightly news was the most aweful I've seen to date. I haven't been back since, but I can't imagine it has gotten any better, but you never know.

Having said that... Beale Street had a couple of fun spots... Not sure if it's still there but the Rum Boogie Cafe could be a place to check out.

I wouldn't waste time at Graceland unless your are a real Elvis fan.

VFE Projects / Re: Blueprint tap tempo

I've been looking at the Blueprint schematic.

I see that the X1 connectors are the row at the top of the board for connecting the tap tempo daughter board, and X2 is the 10k resistor network.

Sounds like the circuit output and the output jack did the trick. Thanks again!

If you get new humbuckets make sure to get something with 4 wires so you can split those coils with push-pull pots.

Are you planning on labeling the knobs and switches beforehand?

Edit: nevermind

I have one of the first run "18v" Palisades and the boost not being independent pretty much ruins it for me. It's the first and likely only EQD pedal I will ever have because of it. I had thought about building my own for a little while,  but I ended up with a BYOC Overdrive 2 which is like the Dunes but with the boost, which is  independent... close enough for me.

I don't mean to distract from your topic, but I think EQD recently switched the Palisades to relay bypass.

Anyways, I applaud your endeavor.

What about the VFE Triplet?

None of the 3 effects are a fuzz, but the sound that comes out of the pedal sure does sound like wicked fuzziness

The actual lawsuits are of no real importance.  It's become a kind of general brand in its own right.

It's kind of like how Leo turned vibrato into Tremolo® and tremolo into Vibro® and nobody seems to care.

Some people care about facts and others actively oppose them.

Yep, It was all about the headstock profile. The knockoffs looked just like a real Gibson from a short distance.
It's not a lawsuit guitar unless its an Ibanez that has the distinct Gibson open book head shape.

About 10 years ago, I had a 1974 Ibanez 2402 doubleneck lawsuit guitar, which was the EDS-1275 copy. It was a decent quality, but a Gibson it was not.

Is it the one in the description?
