Great technique, they look awesome!

Is the switch shorting on the inside of the enclosure? It looks awfully close.

Open Discussion / Re: Wich filter/phaser is that?

He used to (at that time) use two Boss PH-2 Super Phasers. You can see them in this photo of his board:

I used to have a PH-6, and with the RES knob (resonance?) cranked, in front of overdrive or distortion, that's the kind of sound you get. In that song though, it's double tracked, the two tracks hard-panned left and right, and they sound to me like they both have the effect on, but are starting at different points of the 'wave'.

I dunno - there's white text over red swirl in that one.

Hi there!
Here a couple of my swirl finshed pedals.
I´m using "magic marble" paint and no Borax needed, only a bucket with water and the mixing paints.
It´s very easy and im quite happy with results.
let me know if you want more information. will be glad to help!

Those are amazing! I'm not sure about the OP, but I'd love to know how you get such great results! I'd love to know how you do the lettering with them also.

Wow - awesome! Beautifully done. The envirotex thing is something I need to try soon - it looks like glass on yours.

I love the reflection of the guitars in the knobs on the first photo  8)

It is exactly the same.

Awesome, thanks! Still kinda new at this stuff so I struggle looking at it and knowing like seemingly everyone else around here  ;D

The feedback resistor appears to be (at least) one of the differences between the Script and Block logo versions of the Phase 90.  Check out this link for more information.

Jumpering the NOM switch pads will get you Block Logo spec feedback with the adjustable trimmer (apparently a la the EVH version).  Leaving them open gives you the Script Logo spec (i.e. no feedback).  If you omit the switch and don't jumper, you can safely omit T2 and R19.

Sorry to revive this thread after so long, but does this still work given the new layout of the NomNom? http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/NomNom/NomNom2015.pdf

Ahh I see it now, sorry, must have been reading too fast!

However, I think there is a small typo on page 2, just FYI:
"Leave C15 (13?) empty if you are using 15uF for C8."

I'll get the Dirtbaby up this afternoon.

In the notes it says you added C13 and R29, but then in the BOM they both are listed as ***?

General Questions / Re: Wonky drilling or too picky?
December 21, 2014, 04:38:16 PM
Perhaps the photos don't show it properly, but the second one is much better. The stomp hole is offset slightly to the right on the second one, but the other two holes are in the middle.

I haven't been building pedals for long, maybe only built 5 or 6, but I don't recall ever seeing drilled enclosures being out of whack like that first one. I was second guessing myself on the second one, because obviously it's not perfect, but then I'm thinking it's probably close enough that had I not had the problems with the first one, I wouldn't have been checking/noticing it on the second one.

Just read my own post on the Tagboard blog: Looks like a Burger King or KFC straw might be better at they're a smaller diameter. I used a normal red LED with the head bent at 90 degrees so that it pointed straight at the LDR, which was fairly randomly sourced on eBay.

I saw that post when Googling it actually  ;)

I build mine on vero from IvIarks layout using LED/LDR combo with a light shield made from a McDonald's straw and some black tape. Worked perfectly first time and it sounds fantastic.

I've bought a few PCBs from pedalparts.co.uk recently and I've been pretty pleased with them. In fact I got some in the post today. I'd not noticed the Magna before but then he does so many not it's not surprising really!

Yea it looks good. Might have to try that one!

Does anyone make a PCB for the Magnavibe? Or something very similar?

Some great ideas!

I know this is probably sacrilegious around here, but I'm not a huge fuzz fan. I've got the fixed wah covered with a BYOC envelope filter.

I quite like the Magnavibe and Little Angel ideas!

Any other hidden gems?
