VFE Projects / Re: Dual gang pots

Hmmm... So what's the benefit of multi-value vs using a regual dual 100k? Is there something special about Peter's design that requires it? steeper slope, less resonance... etc

I take pictures with my Android phone. I just txt them to myself using Google Messages and download the reduced pic and upload that. Super easy and works every time.

Interesting... I'm looking to do a similar application as the VFE stuff, a variable 2pole hpf and lpf. Is there another way to go about this that you would recommend?

Are you saying  just a regular A100k dual gang should work fine for most applications?

BTW, I'm also open to 9mm pots if anyone has a source for those.

Is there anywhere you can get multi-value dual gang pots similar to the ones used in the VFE Standout, Dragon, and Pinball?

C10k/C100k Custom PCB Dual-Gang 16mm

Is it the different values that are custom about these, or is it tolerance, or taper, or something else?

This "new" stringsthings doesn't type the same, or think the same, and has made a lot of references to falling asleep with several "zzzzzzzzzzzzz's". It's very strange.

Sounds to me like somebody maybe started taking Ambien

Hey, somnif, where'd you find a source on that?  I would like to look over a sales list for their line, see what people are really buying.

It's in the Boss marketing verbage from the link at the beginning of the post. DS-1 is first. I wouldn't be surprised if the BD-2 is third.

"For over 25 years, the MT-2 Metal Zone has been one of the most popular and influential compact pedals in the BOSS lineup, with overall sales that are second only to the venerable DS-1 Distortion."

I don't understand why I was made fun of when I posted this:

in the Buy/See/Trade section.

Sorry to butt in... No disrespect but it seems you have been making irrelevant and irreverent comments on others posts so you'd kinda have to expect the same in return.

This seems like it may be a case of... You can dish it out, but can't take it.

I really wish they would do without the giant, gaudy, lable right smak dab in the middle of the footswitch. It's a huge turn off for me.

With all the above changes, we might as well build another pedal that is designed for bass. This is getting complicated. I've played bass for over 30 years.

Sorry if I misunderstood, I didn't think we were talking about mods for using it with a bass... That would likely just be a clean blend, which Jack said he didn't want to do.

I do enjoy the exploration of available options so I was just throwing out some info that I ran across to see if it sparked a discussion on an angle that maybe had not been explored to deth  :D

Sorry, I'll shut up now

Have you tried it with the blend knob all the way down?

JHS has a made a "little discovery :P" of using the NE5534 chip(I think), which I have heard referred to as the "glass mod". They also state that they make "a few value changes along the way for optimum bass response and smooth silky highs."

Just saying...

Anybody try a different opamp along with the other filter mods?

https://www.electrosmash.com/proco-rat

"In the Clipping Amplifier Stage, there is a double RC network which places two poles and attenuates harmonics below 1.5KHz.
There are several high pass filters, but the Tone circuit and the op-amp bandwidth limit will roll off harmonics higher than 1KHz."
