Awesome graphics!  Nice & neat inside, too.

My Brother Color laser works great for decals but is hit or miss (mostly miss) for etching.  The site where I have bought press 'n peel paper for etching has a disclaimer about brother toner on their product page.  It's a fine printer, but I would buy another brand if I could.

Amazing finish!!  I really need to learn how to do that.   :-[

I have built many of Barry's projects from GuitarPCB, but R2G2 is one of my favorites.

Beautiful.  Sounds great, too!

How do you like working with enviro, have you switched to that from now on?

That is very cool. What's a gristelizer?

It's a strange, barely controllable tremolo with an oscillator.  Here is the link to the board: http://musicpcb.com/pcbs/gristleizer/

Very cool looking! I love how art work looks like on orange enclosures :)
My only disappointment is that the knob & switch labels looked a lot easier to read in Inkscape on a white background.

Very good, very tasty looking stuff! Is it color lazer decals / water slide or some other technique?

The ZPSDX is a laser waterslide decal, black only.  The Gristlizer is a color laser printed on a white vinyl label.  I generally use blem enclosures, so I need vinyl labels for the dark-colored boxes.  Both have several coats of clear lacquer, I use a clear with sparkle for the 2nd coat.

Those look so amazing, pro-level stuff dude! May I ask: guts?

They're both pretty tight inside.

Open Discussion / Re: How do you store your parts?
June 07, 2013, 02:16:50 PM
I use a variety of the storage units mentioned above, but I am still moderately disorganized.  That's the way I run my life.  I can always find what I need.

I think the bigger problem is inventory tracking.  I tried keeping track of components in spreadsheets, but I (almost) never remember to decrement parts counts as I use them.  I often wind up ordering things I don't need AND going to start a project to find that I don't have all the necessary components in stock.

This is a great looking pedal.  How did you make that faceplate?  It's beautiful.  Or is there a thread somewhere on this site that shows how to do it?

This is in red on the ordering page where I buy PnP paper (it wasn't there when I first bought PnP paper OR my Brother printer):

If you intend to use BROTHER printers, keep in mind that Brother toners have higher melting temperature than other toners. It may be difficult to transfer image made by BROTHER printer. I was able to make a transfer using BROTHER printer, but only by hand and iron pressing for 1-2 minutes. GBC laminator did not transfer even smallest piece of image made by BROTHER printer. If you have BROTHER, first experiment several times or get different laser printer, there are very inexpensive models out there.

Again, I am happy with the waterslide decals it prints, but I am considering buying a cheap black-only HP laser.

I had the same horrible results with inkjet printers.  I am very happy with decals from my Brother color laser printer.

However, if I were to buy a new laser I would probably get an HP.  The Press-n-peel Blue PCB Transfer Paper I bought doesn't work well with Brother toner.

BTW, if anyone know of PnP paper that does work with Brother toner, please let me  know...

Open Discussion / Re: Inkscape printing
May 26, 2013, 12:07:24 PM
I have had similar odd printing problems with Inkscape.  When I have an image that won't print correctly I do the following.

1. Back the view out and make sure it is located in the correct spot on the page.
2. Select all, then export the selection as a png file.
3. Import the png into MS Word and make sure I got everything and the scale stayed constant.
4. Print from MS Word

I don't know what causes this problem.  Some of my images print perfectly from Inkscape, but there are others that won't no matter what I change.
