Yeah, you will have to connect the led to the bottom center pole on the switch instead of the top pole as shown in the build doc.  I did the same thing on mine.

awesome! totally worked :) thank you sir!

Tech Help - Projects Page / LED on/off Backwards?
November 14, 2011, 04:45:23 AM
Hey guys,

I just finished building a DeadRinger (Fulltone Fulldrive clone) and noticed that the LED on the boost side of the pedal lights up when the switch is off and turns off when the boost is engaged...kinda backwards. Any ideas why?

Thanks,
Roctopus

Hey guys,

I just etched a Slow Loris Ver. 2 board, assembled it, and ran into some issues.

The pedal works when engaged but the over all volume seems low. It doesn't work however in bypass mode, go figure. Also, the two red LED's don't light up in the third position. I've checked the LED's with a battery and they work fine. Does anyone have any thoughts on the bypass and LED issues?

Thanks,

Do they still carry them? I thought I saw them online but looked today and couldn't find them anymore. Let me know.

They're listed under the new additions (here), but not with the other pots yet--as of now, anyway.

I wonder what the pin spacing is on these. I recall that some similar pots had pins tighter than the .2" found on typical Alpha pcb-mount pots.

Awesome! Thanks so much :)

It looks super cool man. I have always dug that picture.

What did you use for clear coat? and did you sand between coats?

Thanks! I used Rustoleum Clear Coat spray paint. I didn't sand between though.

Does anyone know how to mount these pots? They don't have a washer on them......?

I received a bunch of these from mouser and the linear (B) ones have 3 lugs as per normal, but the logarithmic ones have 5 lugs? anyone know what this is about?

Thanks for the help team.
Scott

Hey Scott,

I totally MacGrubered it but I used doubled sided tape and super glue. Maybe night the best way but it's on there pretty good.

From what I understand the 5 lug ones [RV142F-40-(L) BL] are duel ganged pots. Here is a link that should help you out on how to wire it. http://www.taiwanalpha.com.tw/english/p_e_37.htm

Hey I love the art... nice work!
What kinda booster is it?

It's the Slambox (Zvex SHO) clone :)

Looks great! Beating that thing up first was the right idea, I'd say the look it needs.  :)

+1

Yeah! I was going for a faded flag, rustic/vintage look. It ended with about 8 layers of clear coat but it was worth it :)

Here is a boost pedal I built for my sister-in-law. She loves WWII art so I slapped Rosie the Riveter on a red, white, and blue enclosure and scuffed the heck out of it. Enjoy :)

September 17, 2011, 12:28:51 AM
I'm working on a build that calls for a normal 100kA pot and I purchased a 100kA dual gang pot. Can I till use the dual gang pot instead of a normal 100kA pot?

Can you clarify how you plan to run the leds.  In series on one switch?

Yes. I want to put them in clear shaft pots and illuminate three clear knobs at the same time.

General Questions / Multiple LED's
July 08, 2011, 06:25:17 PM
I'm working on an idea that would require me to have three external LED's. However most builds only have one LED. Is there a way to wire more than one LED to a build? If so, how would you do it?

Thanks!

I have owned a sparkle Drive. I can guarantee you it is just a 808 screamer with a built in clean blend. If you try a bit, you could easily work one out for sure.

Jacob

Thanks Jacob!
Do you happen to know of a resource to figure out how to add a clean/blend knob to an 808 clone like the madbean Neutrino or maybe point me in the right direction? I'm still a novice at building but I would love to give it a shot :)

General Questions / Yellow Shark to Sweet Honey?
June 16, 2011, 11:33:43 PM
Hey gang,

A while back ago I built a Yellow Shark (BJF Honey Bee) by Madbean and love it. However, I recently had a chance to run it side by side with the Mad Professor Honey Bee, which was based on the BJF Honey Bee. They sounded very close but I did notice some slight differences. First, there was a little more headroom with the volume on the Sweet Honey. The second thing I noticed was that the bottom end was tighter in the counter clockwise position of the Sweet Honey. And lastly, the Sweet Honey seemed to have a wider range with it's Focus/Nature knob.

My question would be....

How can I mod my Yellow Shark to be more like the Sweet Honey? Again, specifically getting more headroom from the volume knob and a wider range on the Focus/Nature knob with a tighter low end.

Thanks,
Roctopus
