General Questions / Pork Barrel ticking/clicking
November 18, 2020, 02:30:21 AM
I built a 2019 pork barrel and I am getting a faint clicking or ticking sound that speeds up and slows with the rate pot.  Its louder in bypass, but its still there when the effect is on - just quieter.   Everything else sounds great on it - I've actually used it for close to a year and only noticed the noise when I removed a klon clone I had in front of it.  When there's a buffer (klon) before the pork barrel - no noise - once I take the buffer out I get noise.  I tried moving the wires around to see if I would notice something with the lead dress - it didn't have any effect.

Any ideas what I can do to remedy the noise?

General Questions / Blend / mix knob on pork barrel
February 14, 2019, 04:21:04 AM
I would like to build a pork barrel chorus but include a blend / mix knob to mix between the chorus and vibe signals similar to what is on the walrus audio Julia and the byoc mega chorus.

Is it possible to do this on the current version of the pork barrel pcb just by swapping out a resistor for a pot?

Any advice would be appreciated!

I built a lavache for my son about 2 years ago and he gave back it to me because it is having power issues.  When powered by a battery everything is good.  When I plug in a 9v adapter (voodoo labs correct polarity etc...) it dies out and no sound comes out, the led goes out as well.  When bypassed it works fine battery or dc power.  I tried replacing the dc jack - no dice.  I pulled the diode and cap that are in line with the 9v on the board - no change either.  I checked all of my grounds and can't figure it out.  My son said the 9v used to work just fine and it just crapped out one day.

Any ideas on what to check?

Hi
I recently made a mudbunny to green russian specs and I really like the pedal but it can be a bit dark or bass heavy for my taste. Without totally changing it to rams head or triangle specs is there a component or two that I can change to lower the bass?  I was comparing components of the various versions and I'd rather not swap out half of the stuff on the board if I can avoid it since desoldering can be such a headache.  I suppose that I could just crank the tone control but I'm not crazy about the overall sound when it is almost fully cranked.
Any tips?
Thanks very much!

General Questions / Rangemaster question
January 13, 2013, 07:32:44 PM
Hello,
I'm new here but have been reading and planning out projects for quite a while.  Thanks for all the info and awesome projects!

I have a question about a rangmaster that I just built.  I built it on vero board and everythign works great and the pedal sounds excellent, except when I roll my guitar volume down I get a crackling sound while the pot travels.  Is this normal for a range master or is there something I should do to correct it?  The circuit I made is stock except for a switch for 2 input caps and a 1 meg pulldown resistor.

Thanks very much!
