Open Discussion / Embedding Sound cloud files

Anybody know how to embed soundcloud files? I see some post that allow you to play the file from the posts. I could only get links to the files.

Thanks

A Porkbarrel I built for my wife.  Everything's stock except for the LFO mod.

My first try with alcohol inks.

Build Reports / Ross Compressor
June 22, 2013, 01:05:01 AM
Built this from a great board I got from pickdropper. It's a Ross 4 knob compressor.
Decided to go simple and try stamps. These are quick and easy but there is definitely a learning curve on how to line them up. I didn't do so well, but I like it and it really stands out next to all the etched faceplates I've been doing.

General Questions / Led resistor for Harbinger
June 17, 2013, 11:50:16 PM
I'm boxing up the Harbinger tonight and since I'm using a Dunlop 18v psu what value resistor would I use for the LED? Do I just double what I usually use because the power is doubled?

Open Discussion / Marshall amp simulator

Want to build something that will get me close to the Marshall sound. I'm thinking Hendrix 'Wind cries Mary" or "Hey Joe" sound. Any help would be appreciated.

Open Discussion / For Mark Knopfler fans

Mark Knopfler is one of my guitar heroes. Found this nice interview on YouTube where he talks about how he started playing guitar and some background on a few of his songs. Seems like a really nice guy.

Open Discussion / Clogged Spray Nozzle
June 06, 2013, 10:14:41 PM
Just went to spray some clear polyurethane on a face plate and the nozzle was all clogged up. I've only used a minimum amount out of this can.  >:( Anybody have any ideas how to clear it.

Open Discussion / My new toy
June 05, 2013, 04:24:12 AM
Just picked this up used at Guitar Center. My Laney VC30 was purchased in the UK when I lived there and so I wanted something I didn't have to carry a huge step-up transformer around. Plus 30 watts of tube power is way to loud for most situations I find myself in. I never get to turn it up and hear that natural overdriven sound. I miss that!

I have 60 days to return it if I don't like it. Any of you have any experience with Blackstar amps. It is the HT5 a 5 watt tube amp.

Build Reports / Harbinger Now with Sound files
June 04, 2013, 04:33:26 AM
Finally finished this bad boy. Great sounding pedal even though I can't fit a light shield in there right now. The light is already hitting on the lid. When I have the energy I'll go back in and try to remedy that. Does it matter that much since it is in darkness when the box is closed up? Should have followed Pryde's suggestion of using a 125BB to get a little more depth.

It is stock except for R46 being 4k7 instead of 47k.

Faceplate

The pedal for now. I might try this in a black box eventually.

I add these sound files below. I couldn't figure out how to embed the soundcloud file. I recorded this straight into the computer. I want to try getting a mic and recording the amp, I think it would be a lot warmer.

First one is my attempt at Little Wing. It is the Univibe alone.
Second in the style of Trower's Daydream. It is a GreenBean in front of the Univibe.
Third a bit heavier. It is a RangeMaster into a Big Muff (built to Skreddy P19 specs) into the Univibe.

My apologies to Hendrix and Trower.

Rather than hijack a build thread I thought I'd start a new one. I'm not sure if I've put this in the right forum, maybe it should have been in the build reports.

sonarchotic stated in his Ram's Head 'extra creepy' thread. A killer build!

I need to figure out a better way to do water slide decals on dark background. I have to mask off the face, paint it white then apply the decal which gives me an awkward border. Would the white background decals fix this issue?

I wanted to show that white is possible with dark t-shirt transfer paper. Print it out on a color inkjet then iron it on. I think this would look killer combined with a glossy Envirotex like sonarchotic used in his build.

Anyway, these are pedals I built more than 10 years ago, right before I kicked the habit. You can see the white in them. That comes from the transfer paper because it is white. So, wherever there's no ink its white not clear.

I had coated these with epoxy but it was a pain. I'm itching to try this technique with Envirotex. The learning curve never stops!

Building a Multiplex Jr. with taptation and have a couple questions before I get to far into this.

Here's what I believe I need to do.
1.  Put a Jumper for R25.
2.  Connect the taptation to lug 1 of the depth pot.
3.  Don't use the time pot on the Multiplex Jr. What do I do with the pads on the MP board for the time pot? Leave them alone? Jump them?
4.  There are 3 Led's between the two boards. Modulation rate on the MP jr. Clock and Scale on the Taptation. Do I use all of them?
5.  I'm assuming the dot on the vactrol solders into the square pad on the MP jr board. Is this correct?

Thanks guys for your help.

Build Reports / Meathead
May 23, 2013, 01:14:16 AM
This is my first attempt at etching an enclosure. I still have a lot to learn and it could definitely have been executed better, but I think the grunged out look does fit the sound of this pedal.

I like the big 8mm LED on this build.

Build Reports / Harmonic Energizer
May 21, 2013, 04:32:49 AM
My first build report.  ;D It's a Harmonic Energizer (Karate Shop). I love this pedal, put it in front of a Rat and instant Michael Schenker tones. Now if I just had his talent.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Rebote Potentiometer
May 19, 2013, 03:34:18 AM
Just finished the Rebote but didn't have the 25k-B pot for repeats. I subbed in a 50k-B pot. What difference will that make? Could I put a resistor across lugs 1 and 3 to reduce it down to 25k?

Thanks guys

Tech Help - Projects Page / Road Rage Question
May 14, 2013, 05:09:08 AM
Hey guys. Just finished two Porkbarrels (One for my wife and one for me). I used MN3007's and want to try 15v. I want to make sure I order the right parts for the Road Rage. I noticed there are many options for charge pumps and voltage regulators. What would you suggest?

Thank you
