The 2021 BOTY will start before (USA) Thanksgiving and go through the first few days of January. This year I'm going to do something different. The contest will proceed as normal but there will be only one "grand" prize offered. This year I want to focus less on the prizes/sponsorships and more celebrating the work that's been shown here in 2021. However, the prize will be a really nice one! I've already picked it out

Also, I need to touch base with the 2020 winners. There may still be a couple prizes from last year that fell through due to my poor follow-up. This is totally a failure on my part (in my defense I had a on going on this year totally unrelated to mbp) but I will be contacting all the winners to make sure everyone is whole.

There's been a tremendous amount of great builds this year so I'm excited to see them showcased in the contest.

Not what the title leads you to believe. With the release of the VFE DragonHound coming this week I started thinking a bit about blended circuits. The DragonHound puts the AlphaDog and PaleHorse in one box and lets you blend them in parallel (with the tone and level being shared by both). I've thought about this concept on and off for a few years but never really went anywhere with it. But, the DragonHound sounds great so I want to start tackling some other possibilities.

The two that I've already started drawing up are pretty solid ideas: An OCD and Zendrive (both using mosfet clipping, one hard one soft) and two of my favorite boosters - the AMZ MiniBoost and Mosfet boost. The boost one goes further in that it lets you run them in series (both ways) AND parallel.

Any suggestions on other blender circuits you might like? This could be another category of offerings at mbp.

I'll start this on Thursday and go through Sunday night. Just a heads up in case you were planning on a store order this week. Happy to announce the release of the testing rig. This is a full kit (assembly required) that you can use for breadboarding circuits, testing builds, debugging, etc. It has a few extra cool features like an audio and ground probe. The first 15 kits are available now and I should have another 15 in a couple of weeks.

Note to international customers: this kit comes in a nice little box, but in some instances I may have to exclude it for international shipping. Once a certain weight in ounces is hit anything over that increases postage by a factor of 2 and it's just not worth it for a box.

Lastly, there are a few Silverfox giveaways left but they may run out by tonight. I'll update the site once I know for sure they are gone.

I don't think I mentioned these and I believe it flew under the radar, but smallbear does have some knobs that fit very nicely over the 9mm plastic shaft knobs used in some mbp and pretty much ALL VFE projects. These are nice because they add height and have a clear indicator. They do require a larger drill hole.

Anyway, still available. I just ordered a bunch and probably will get more before it's too late.

About to hit my 10,000th post. Wondering what it should be?

Banner says it all! For the giveaway I went back to one of my earliest PCB projects that hasn't been seen here for more than a decade, I think. The LTD Silver is a great low gain OD so give it a try.
There were a couple projects that did not make it into this batch b/c I need more time with them. But they should be sorted out and released mid October.

I've already processed one shipment to verify it will go through w/o any complications due to the new Brexit regulations. So, based on that I think it's okay to start back up.

- USPS has suspended 1st Class Package service to Australia due to COVID. I don't know how long this will last. I won't be able to ship any Australian orders until the suspension is lifted, unfortunately. If you do place an order, you may be waiting for a while before I can ship it. I'd advise waiting.

- I may be able to resume shipping to the UK. I should have an update on that soon.

- Parts shortages means some projects may be unavailable. I have UberTuber and Harbinger Two boards but not enough of the included parts. I think I can have both of these back in stock by the end of the month, though. The Rustbucket is discontinued for now. The projected availability for the Murata power brick that comes with it isn't until summer of 2022!

- Some new releases and a new giveaway are pending. Maybe this month. I've been having some health related issues over the last few months (not COVID thankfully) that have made consistent productivity extremely difficult. I can't really say more because we don't know what the problem is, only the symptoms (probably a good opportunity to go on a rant about healthcare in the soapbox thread!) But, I'm hoping to have some answers soon and also get back to work on mbp. The good news is I've been feeling better lately so I think I will be able to complete these releases (I've had the boards for almost 6 weeks already). Anyway, I expect one of those releases to be the new prototyping/testing rig kit which I am really excited to put out!

I need assistance from a UK customer who would like to place an order so that I can test a different shipping method (and hopefully do away with the shipping suspension). If you have a board or two you want to order please PM me so we can work it out. I can throw in a small incentive as a thank you for participating in the experiment

The wiring diagram showed the In and GND wires reversed on the input jack. This has been corrected in the doc and re-uploaded.

Is anyone planning on going to the Sungazer show in Nashville next month? I haven't been to a show in a very long time and frankly I don't know anyone local that would be into their brand of "electrojazz + EDM" But, I dig it. It would be fun to meet up with, well, anyone down for a cool show experience.

PS Sungazer is Adam Neeley and Shawn Crowder's duo. Both are pretty active on youTube.

Does anyone know thereabouts what the two LFO speeds are in Hz? Yes, I am being very lazy.
